In the context of coronavirus quarantine, not in a regular world where we can actually go out and socialize. TIA

It gets a bad rap for whatever reason but I've always thought it was a pretty good movie.

Thanks. I've been dvr-ing some movies on the starz free preview. This one popped up and I've only ever known it as a box office flop.

Yeah it's worth it. It may feel dated now, but it got a bad rap at the time because it was the most expensive movie to make up to that point.

It just didn't live up to the hype, but you're locked in your house, so you might as well give it a go.

It's 90's action entertaining if that makes any sense.

I know its set in the future and it's a non-descript set on water.

But they managed to make it feel very 90's.

Even on water, in the middle of nowhere...with water Pirates, I guess.

Yes.

Kinda like Mad Max on water.

It’s not great but it’s good.

I like it. The Postman is another of his that gets a bad rap but I’ve always enjoyed it as well.

It’s for a lot of cool stunts if nothing else. It’s worth a watch.

It's terrible and at the same time worth watching. And if it is on, I will always tune in for a bit.

For those too young to remember, in the lead up to that movie's release it became this weird media whipping boy. For some reason it became very en vouge to trash and mock the movie, since it was in development hell and had notable budget overruns.

The actual movie itself was not particularly poorly received by the public. the reception was sorta 'meh' It wasn't great, but also wasn't terrible.

So yeah, it doesn't deserve the bad rep the media gave it before it came out.

Absolutely.

I do not understand why people thought this film was bad.

The Postman is WAY better than Waterworld.

this was mostly because of massive cost overruns and delays during production,it became kind of notorious before it came out, like Heavens Gate and because of the cost it was a massive flop. Its ok, but nothing special. The gag about the smokers ship is probably dated.

If you are good at suspension of disbelief then sure.

Otherwise it is a steaming pile of poo.
