I always watch it every time it comes on. So much information and love the restored video from the time period.

Yes, there is.
There is a YouTube series out there called World War Two in Real Time. They release a new video every Saturday chronicling one week of the war, as it happened, in real time. They started the series back on September 1, 2018 with the German invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939 and will release their video for the week of November 14, 1941 this weekend. Also, on December 7, they will be dropping a five-hour-long documentary on the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. It will be a minute-by-minute recreation of the day of infamy. World of Warships and World of Planes will be doing the CGI for it.

I prefer Greatest Events of WWII in color. If you haven’t seen it, it’s Very similar but focuses on individual events instead of the entire life span of the war. That way they can dig deeper into the unique stories.

They Shall Not Grow Old is a great colorized doc about WW1. Done by Peter Jackson.

Sounds cool. How long is each episode?

BBC’s The World at War is the GOAT.
First-hand interviews with major players and eyewitnesses in every episode. From both sides.
Narrated by Laurence Olivier. Don’t watch it all at once or the theme song will haunt you. You’ve been warned.

WW2 in Colour was really good. I like it because it goes into pre Pearl Harbor stuff and goes well past the end of the war.
WW2 in HD and Vietnam in HD might be the best things the History Channel has ever put out.
I’ve never seen much of World at War. I know it’s really in depth. A lot of people interviewed aren’t just soldiers. Statesman and higher ups were still kicking at the time so they bring interesting takes to the interviews.
Some stuff was still being written about the war though when this came out. I don’t think the significance of Bletchley Park and Project Ultra were even known yet, just for example.

Usually between 10-15 minutes long. Though some are almost 20 minutes in length. So you're looking at a documentary series with, at least, 3,120 minutes (52 hours) of content when they finish the series on September 2, 2024.

I believe that is the one the OP is talking about. It is fantastic. It is so well made, and explains things so well.
It is also on Netflix. It’s official name is “World War II in HD Colour.”

begins and ends with the world at war
Definitely the gold standard where it concerns mainstream documentary television. Many of the major players from WWII were still alive and interviewed at length for the series. As far as primary source eyewitness testimony from that period, there isn't a better documentary for WWII on the planet. However, some of the elements of the series are a bit dated as the Soviet Union was still around when it was produced and, as such, they were rather coy with what information they would and wouldn't volunteer. Bletchley Park was still classified so the series doesn't touch on the cracking of the Enigma codes at all as a result. It's also a little too euro-centric as it tries to cram the entirety of America's war with Japan into one episode toward the end. This makes sense, however, because it was produced by a British production company.
Either way...The World at War is a remarkable feat of documentary filmmaking and should be watched by everyone with an interest in the conflict.

I went into this one with high hopes, but found it to be incredibly boring. Also, man, those British dudes had some bad teeth.

I kinda felt the same way. The footage was remarkable, but the pacing and actual storytelling left a lot to be desired

I watch that every week.
