the ten minute prologue of Raising Arizona is hard to beat. Especially with several classic quotes.

A few of my favorites that haven't been mentioned:
The Godfather. "I believe in America". What an opener.
There Will Be Blood. No dialogue, just good acting, writing, score, and visuals.

Pulp Fiction
Casino Royale (Daniel Craig version)
Underrated opener is Watchmen. Almost a shot for shot take on the novel. Done so well especially the end with the comedians pin there at the gutter with blood on it.
Overrated opener for me is 2001: A Space Odyssey. I love this film if you take out the first 15 minutes and the last 15 minutes.

The opening scene takes place present day in the Normandy beach American Cemetery - but the June 6, 1944 scene immediately after that, yeah I'll agree.
