Gets me every time.

"To my big brother George, the richest man in town."

By the by, Rushmore has the best ending of any movie.

Just random, and it's a movie that a ton of people hate, but Napoleon Dynamite has one of the best endings ever. It's perfect for the type of movie it was, just a good hearted ending. The two of them playing teatherball, with "time after time" as the song playing.

Um yeah isn’t that “The Promise” by When in Rome?

I don't know if It's A Wonderful Life has the best ending...to a movie.

But if it was real life...

I wouldn't be confused or suicidal.

Carrie Heffernan: [Arthur is watching 'It's A Wonderful Life'] Ah, 'It's A Wonderful Life'. Pretty great, huh?

Arthur Spooner: Actually, I think it's a swing and a miss.

Carrie Heffernan: What are you talking about? It's one of the greatest movies of all time.

Arthur Spooner: With George Bailey, the town is boring. Without him, there's nightclubs, bars and gambling. It's fabulous. I wish he hadn't been born.

Resurrecting this thread from page 3, having just finished my annual viewing of IAWL (been traveling, so I was a little late this year)

I have to say it does have one of the greatest endings of all time - but to answer the OP:
