Kids have a tendency to emulate his behavior. Which consists of constant temper tantrums (I'm pretty sure there's one every episode), talking back parents, etc. He's super bratty, is unnecessarily mean to his sister.
And the parents are about as potato as it gets. They're generally just shitty parents.
This article from Fatherly explains it pretty well but this passage is spot on:

I heard someone explain that Ms. Rachel is witchcraft in a half kidding way.

I was just reading this was actually a French show and not a French Canadian show?
Supposedly the old episodes are all horrible where he’s a little shite but at a certain point, they realized he was a little shite and revamped the show into a much more positive experience where he is less a little shite. Per the internet
