Universal just needs to sell Hulk already

I wonder if the movie rights are somehow tied into the theme park rights?

Still weird to me after the MCU going to Islands of Adventure and seeing all these superheroes in a non-MCU context. I know Islands of Adventure predates the MCU but it’s still kind of odd now that the landscape ha changed so dramatically

MCU Hulk is just another strong guy now. Not some monstrous badass like we saw in the Norton Hulk’s fight with the Abomination. That’s more Disney and the writers’ faults though

It has everything to do with the rights. Universal's contract with Disney is that Hulk can be a supporting role in the MCU, but cannot do a standalone film, unless it is distributed and controlled by Universal (in other words not under the control of Kevin Feige and Marvel- therefore it couldnt really be MCU canon).

Disney has already hung a large albatross around its neck with the pain in the arse Sony Spiderman deal. No way they go all out for the Hulk. Maybe they make a big ticket offer to buy the rights outright, but I bet Universal won't sell. They make $$$ for nothing every time Hulk appears in a MCU film.

FWIW, I like Ruffalo Banner/HUlk much better than Norton version. Just my preference.

I think the rights issues include Hulk specific characters, but obviously not She-Hulk (who is getting a Disney+ series) so I'm not sure. Also, Thunderbolt Ross, so maybe it isn't as all encompassing like the Spidey/Sony deal.

Would like to see Abomination, Betty Ross, and Doc Samson return as well as the Leader and a few other Hulk villains. Just keep Rick Jones out of it.

Hulk would have been better as a series.

In the mix with these wandavision, tfaws, loki etc.

Could have had Banner walking the roads, doing was Bill did in the old TV series with "the lonely man" character. Being hunted, helping people along the way that could come back later, Etc.

And use the old piano theme throughout the show

No. Universal is the reason. They own the distribution rights to any film where Hulk is the main character. I think the same problem exists with Namor.

Only in a stand-alone capacity, although I don't know why they haven't shown Betty Ross in the overall MCU since the 2008 film.

Abomination (Emil Blonsky) is supposed to appear in She-Hulk (played by Tim Roth again)

Which sucks bc it's a perfect time for a Namor appearance in the MCU

No.

It's purely a Universal/Marvel thing.

I'm curious if they'll still have him as massive as he was in Hulk. If so, then that is a good indicator that She-Hulk will be very much CGI as well (which I've been wondering if they were going to a lot with that or not).

Considering the other series didn't actively replace their actors with CGI but rather added in CGI for the fights, and with Loki following in the same vein, it'll be interesting to see how often they transform her considering the costs.

Yeah he’s been watered down even since the first Avengers.

He's pretty unlikeable as Mark Ruffalo being the liberal wiener activist that he is.

I'm someone who actually really enjoyed the 08 Hulk film. I've always wanted them to do a sequel, especially since they already alluded to the next villain with Samuel Sterns.

But the entire film was basically forgotten in the MCU. No mentions of Betty Ross, The Abomination, or The Leader.

Namor is the villain for Black Panther 2. Wish it was Doom though.
