Hell no. And those aren't all good movies.

That laugh in War Dogs alone is Oscar worthy.

He's an excellent supporting actor. Can't say yet he's an A list star but he's up there. I don't think I've hated any role he's taken since I've seen him.

True Story is a damn good movie of his where he is the lead.

True Story was a movie that should've been good and it just wasn't much of anything.

A-List means your name alone can carry a film's success....

So, no he's not.

Hs name alone would get people to go out to see a movie they otherwise might not have even considered, especially a comedy movie. Not like Brad Pitt or Tom Hanks, but I think Hill has some pull just based off of name recognition.

Jonah Hill is going to have a very long career- don't know why you would think otherwise. He's got legitimate chops and people love working with him from everything I've heard. And I doubt he'll ever have real money problems for the rest of his life. Dude could live off royalties.

I don't think so yet, but he's pretty close. He's shown he can be a solid supporting actor in Oscar caliber movies. We'll see if he can carry it as a lead one day

He was also in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

It was on HBO on Friday.

'Is your GF joining you?'

'Wait, your just by yourself?'

'You sure you don't want a magazine or something? It's going to be boring.'

Lol love that exchange.

Dude is legit awesome in Moneyball and the Wolf of Wall Street. Can't think of anything he's been in where I thought he was miscast or gave a poor performance either.

I was hoping his character in Superbad would get hit by a bus. Annoying fatass.

If he's an A list the criteria to make it has gone to hell.

Is he an A list actor? Yes.
Is he a leading man? Not quite yet. He's at least a co-lead though.

He's on my A list of most overrated actors in history - smug fat boy with very little diversity in style.

I don't know what an a list actor is anymore

it is supposed to be box office draws, but if you made a list of a list actors, they're not the biggest draws.

George Clooney is a great example. guys gets paid top dollar, but he doesn't bring people to the theaters.

So waht makes someone an "A-list actor" then, simply being in multiple movies and a lot of people putting your face to your name?

as mentioned, I consider an A list actor as one that can headline a film and be the only real draw and people still go see it, simply because guy is in it. Also someone who appeals to a very broad audience both male and female, young and old. Hanks and Pitt have been mentioned already but there's plenty more like them.

People aren't going to line up to see a movie with Jonah Hill and a bunch of unheard of supporting cast unless it's a college style comedy romp, and the vast majority of that audience is going to be males under 30 anyway.

I feel like we had this A list convo not too long ago

That's a pretty good way to sum it up. I think it's a combo of box office draw, the actors talent, and the quality of movies they do

Hanks can bring in the money, obviously a good actor, and makes good movies
Leo is same way, etc..

He sucks as an actor and is completely talentless.

If he is considered a 'solid actor', Keanu Reeves is our generation's Laurence Olivier.
