Jack Frost gets my vote, unless we can nominate sequels; then, I would pick Jack Frost 2.

I don’t think I’ve ever sat down and watched it from start to finish in one setting

I’ve only ever seen bits and pieces throughout the 24 hour marathons to make up the entire movie

If you want a BB Gun for Christmas don’t have yankee parents.

I've never understood the Christmas Story thing.

It didn't exist when I was a kid and then people my age just pretended at some random point that it was a classic.

Yeah, I was a freshman in college when it came out. I had never heard of it until I was in my 30’s. It has a following for some reason.

How can it be the worst when Elf exists?

It's not great.l, honestly. I've never seen in one setting either... To me it's just a cmseries of scenes.

The 24 hr marathons by AMC/TBS, etc have done more to prop the film up 9ver the last 10-15 yrs than anything.

Honestly, on Christmas Day, I'd rather watch Home Alone or Christmas Vacation or something else entirely like a grand old Biblical Epic or LOTR. Not a b movie from the 80s, which is what A Christmas Story is.

It was off the radar when I was a child...not much peep about it...but by word of mouth watched it in the late 80's. Sort of like Shawshank, took about 5 years to catch on. A Christmas Story became a VHS hit.

Shite the classics were still Miracle on 34th Street and It's a Wonderful Life in the 80's.

So A Christmas Story was a nice respite from the usual suspects...and it gained traction through the 90's and then started being on TV for 24hrs. (no shame in that) It's a Wonderful Life only became popular 30 years after it was released into free domain.

It's weird to dislike this movie...but often it comes from over-saturation. So contrary view becomes avante-garde.

Aren't you liek 39-42 somewhere in that range? That was when it hit cult status. I remember watching it a bunch as a kid. And it being on TV. Not the 24-hour TBS thing, but enough to make an impression.

Hating on universally beloved things for interweb clout?

Naw. That is the basic definition of a hipster

If anyone thinks "A Christmas Story" is the worst Christmas movie ever. . .nothing they have to say is worth hearing.

Because they are emotional, reactionary, vaginal idiots who have seen MAYBE 5 movies.

Amen

It’s painfully boring 22. Unfortunately people have made liking this movie part of their identity.
