If you look in the adult's heads, the gender of each emotion is always the same, despite the hair or mustache they have

I'm guessing it was completely missed by you that the possible reason for this was because she was a "tomboy"?

So every girl who likes hockey is Caitlin Jenner? Got it.

We took my 2 1/2 year old Saturday to see it. She sat through the entire thing. Wife and I enjoyed it more than she did, but it was still fun for her.

she will sit through some movies at the house and some she loses interest pretty quick

I think this is the only movie I have taken my 4 year old to see that her arse stayed planted in the seat the whole time.

She just turned 4 if that helps.

Sorry, but I don't think kids will really understand this film for the most part. Yes they will find some enjoyable things about it, but it's definitely a film that is designed to be seen in retrospect from a certain period in your life. Your kids likely haven't arrived at the point Riley has if they haven't reached puberty yet.

They were pitch perfect casting though, from Bill Hader to Amy Poehler. I don't really give a crap.

I agree that they were cast well. I was admittedly being hypercritical and really just goofing around about something I noticed until some jacknob started acting like he "got" the reasoning at some higher level.

You are really stuck on this hockey thing. I never said that because she liked hockey, she had to have some male emotions. Riley was, however, a bit of a tomboy, which could easily explain that. Did the Mom every play hockey or did she like hockey because her child and husband liked hockey? Is it possible that the mom is more of a girly girl than her daughter, thus all her emotions being female? Yes it is.

I never said I "got" the reasoning. I did provide a possible explanation to an issue you had with the film. Then you made a snide remark. Sorry you got so sensitive over this.

Remember I said despite the hair? Mom's anger has a deep voice and fear looks more male as well. Take a look at Dad's joy

Fear: What was that? Was that a bear?!
Disgust: There are no bears in San Francisco.
Anger: I saw a really hairy guy. He looked like a bear.

not only did i get it (bc how could you not unless you're a kid), i'm surprised they got away with it.

i'll add to what everyone else said. great movie. it's not my favorite or probably even in my top 5 (toy story 1 and 3, nemo, Up, and Wall-E) but defnitely lands with the next tier (incredibles, monsters inc, brave) i always forget big hero 6 not pixar and brave is.

but that's not the point, bc it's truly not an insult to the film, the point is: jeez what is pixar's batting average? i mean besides the obvious money grab of cars 2 and monsters U?

such incredible films. i know this one took 5 yrs and a few re-writes but kudos to them getting it right. not only was it brilliantly conceived but the voice acting was great. phyllis smith absolutely crushed it.

the kids loved it as well.

i want to see it again bc i'm sure i missed things the first time around.

yeah, I think the mustache and the hair were just to let kids see that there were the respective parent's emotions.

also, Dad is controlled by Anger and Mom by Sadness, while Riley is controlled by Joy.

Yup, definitely doesn't look like a tomboy here

I'm done with this. Sorry you disliked a very good movie, but this particular complain is pretty silly. The emotions obviously differed based on the person, the movie made that abundantly clear or else each person's head would have the exact same emotions.

That's nothing compared with what Animaniacs got away with back in the day: LINK

Wacko: In hopes that Saint Nick would leave us a big load.
