Any comedy in which the "comedy" comes from the main character being borderline retarded & just randomly saying/screaming dumb things that would appeal to an 8 year old.

Examples:
Billy Madison
Waterboy
Anchorman
Zoolander (I dont mind this one as much for some reason, but cant get through 30 minutes of the others)

Armageddon is the worst piece of shite I have ever had to sit through. Honestly felt stupider after seeing it. Just totally insulting to human intelligence.
I think you are correct about its effect on you.

It's an entire movie that could have been written, shot and directed by 8th graders based on what they learned from watching tv commercials. So yeah, watching it probably made us all stupider.

To add insult to injury, its like three hours long. So even more of your life is wasted than by other shitty movies.

These are all awesome movies. I weep for your inability to appreciate them.

Deerhunter, Midnight Cowboy, Chinatown, Taxi Driver, French Connection, The Conversation and a lot other praised films from the late 60s early 70s are just boring as shite to me and I think people just say they like them bc they are supposed to

It really pisses me off when people say shite like this. If you don't like the movies, that's cool. But don't presume to tell me the only reason I like whatever movie is because "I'm supposed" to. frick you I'm perfectly capable of deciding what movies I like and why There are plenty of highly praised movies I'm not a fan of. For example Taxi Driver. I've watched several times, it just doesn't do it for me. Same with Raging Bull, though I respect both and appreciate DeNiro's performance in RB. But I don't find either movie "boring". Chinatown, The Conversation and The French Connection are all awesome films.

That's what everyone keeps telling. I guess that's the point of this thread though. To my friends, San Diego meaning a whales vagina should go down in history as one of the greatest comedic lines ever spoken in a motion picture.

at least half of this board hates Scarface so that one shouldn't even be mentioned

Heat and Fargo were very forgettable IMO, i have seen both but can barely remember seeing them. also, Fight Club was just ok

Saving Private Ryan. I thought The Thin Red Line was a way better war movie from that year. American Beauty is a pretentious piece of poo poo. I also haven't particularly cared for any of Scorsese's movies after Goodfellas except The Departed which was a basically a scene by scene remake of the far superior Infernal Affairs. Scorsese hasn't made bad films but they just receive way too much acclaim. It's like the award shows are trying to make up for all the times that they've screwed over Scorsese through the years.

if you watch Rambo as a comedy it becomes quite good

Rocky 1-3 were quite good (esp the first couple)
