The general reactions make it pretty clear this wasn't the case. War Machine eyes fricking bulged when he tried to head him off.

Mark is so awkward and he was already struggling with what he could and couldn't say earlier in the interview. He also might have been on something.

At the end of Ragnarok, you can see The Grandmaster's ship (Commodore) on the bigger spaceship before Thanos shows up. I'm guessing that'll come into play if they keep Korg and Valkyrie around.
