In your opinion, what is the worst movie to win “Best Picture” Oscar?

Granted, I haven’t seen many from the last ten years, but my nom goes to “Crash”.
I got a feeling “Argo” will get a few noms here, but I actually liked Argo.

Crash is probably the worst in recent years. Many on this forum will say Shakespeare in Love but I wonder how many of them have actually seen the movie. Should it have beaten out Saving Private Ryan? Certainly not. But it was still a very good movie in its own right.

Easily Kramer vs Kramer, particularly since it beat out Apocalypse Now.

I hate things like Green Book, Crash, Birdman, Driving Miss Daisy, The Artist, Chicago, and American Beauty, but the actual worst IMO are from the 1930s.
Cimarron and Cavalcade are both absolutely insufferable movies from the early 30s. They awarded Best Picture to All Quiet on the Western Front the year before Cimarron, and It Happened One Night the year after Cavalcade. So, it's not like they were unaware of good movies back then.

Crash is the only movie where I said “this won best picture?” when the credits rolled.

Shakespeare in Love was cleverly written and entertaining.
I also enjoyed Argo, although I’m not so sure it deserved Best Picture.
I didn’t hate Crash, but I understand some people considered it to be “preachy”.

I just wish they would quit having 8-10 movies nominated for best picture. If there are only 3-4 movies that were great in a year, then that should be all the nominees. This year I don’t see 9 best picture nominees.

I couldn’t get through birdman. I’ve tried several times.

How it beat out Raging Bull will forever be a mystery.

Along that same sentiment, The French Connection, particularly since it beat out The Last Picture Show.

Titanic because it beat Saving Private Ryan. Talk about an absolute joke.

Those were definitely two different years

Out of the ones I’ve seen it’s Moonlight but admittedly I haven’t seen most of the more controversial ones like Crash etc.

Green Book and The Artist were pretty bad
