Anyone else catch episode 1, this week?

The casting for these anthology series always cracks me up. The sheer abundance of prosthetic noses on some of the cast is a little distracting.

Sarah Paulson - Linda Tripp
Edie Falco - Hillary
Annaleigh Ashford - Paula Jones
Beanie Feldstein - Monica Lewinsky
Clive Owen - Bill Clinton

Sarah Paulson

She did a great job as Marcia Clarke in "The People vs. OJ Simpson."

I haven't watched yet, but I plan on checking it out.

See it's on Fox. Better watch it on there before they flip it to Hulu.

Good. Linda Tripp is a count, the actress that plays monica is hard to look at, and paula jones is directly from central casting for denny's waitress.

ETA: I was young when this all went down, and didn't remember how terribly women dressed back then. The hair, the shoulder pads, the terrible glasses, etc.

Does Episode 1 take place in 1995 (when Lewinsky first worked in the White House)? Because that style of dress for businesswomen was already out of style by 1998, when the story of the affair broke.

If I remember correctly the opening scene is in 1998, but then flashes back to 1993 and then the bulk of the show is around 1995.

Recorded it but doubt I watch it after reading this article

Sounds like it’s a lewinsky redemption story instead

quote:

Feldstein said she developed a friendship with Lewinsky, meeting once in person just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and exchanging texts and videos.

"She was incredibly giving, and I made it very clear to her when we started filming that I saw myself as her bodyguard," Feldstein said at a Television Critics Association event.

The actress said she told Lewinsky: "I'm going to protect you. I have your back. I know your heart."

To be fair, she did get a lot of abuse because of this scandal. All she did was engage in a consensual sexual relationship with another adult.

But then she became a unwilling pawn in the Paula Jones/Ken Starr investigation (they threatened to turn her over to Justice for obstructing justice if she didn’t testify against Clinton). Then when Bubba’s team needed to discredit, they concocted the myth that Lewinsky was an obsessed “groupie” with an unrequited crush on Clinton.

Then she became Jay Leno’s favorite punchline for 2 years.

As they said in the Paula Jones press conference, we aren't asking for a blow by blow account.

I thought they went too far when "Ken Starr" asked Beanie for her oral statement and she got on her knees.

That's Annaleigh Ashford from B Positive on CBS.

Cobie Smulders as Ann Coulter might be the most kind casting decision of the decade.

I don't have a problem with Monica. Besides, if it's an overly-kind portrayal of her, then you know that they're going to be brutal in their treatment of Hillary, and when that happens, we all win.

I've seen several pics of Monica. She is working those highlights.

Has to be directed or produced by Ryan Murphy then... He's got a hard on for that woman. The only good acting she has done was in the OJ series. She was/is terrible in AHS.

She was definitely on that side of the spectrum.
