I'm one who does not pickup watching new tv series very easily, but I recently had the flu and decided to binge Seinfeld and see what was so great about it. I had seen bits and pieces here and there, but I had never watched a whole episode.

I'm midway into season 2, and I'm about to give up. I just don't understand why you people go nuts for this. I smirk a few times an episode and lol maybe once. I do like Kramer but I find everyone else just annoying, especially George with the constant whining.

I enjoy witty comedy, but I'm not big on sitcoms to begin with so maybe that's it. Are the earlier seasons just 'meh' and the later ones get better?

Seasons 1 and 2 are probably the worst, but I love just about every episode so I'm not sure what to tell you.

I'm not sure if I like the early episodes because I've seen every episode many times, though. I started watching the last 2 seasons live when I was in middle school, and then I caught up when it went into syndication.

It’s not the funniest show ever. I honestly laugh harder at Golden Girls reruns.

I wouldn't call the acting 'great' but its some of the best writing in the history of television.

Yes, Seasons 3 they hit their stride and then up until 7 was the best time, when Larry David left.

I love all of it but everything isn’t for everyone.

What shows do you like?

If I'm watching comedy it is usually stand up. Patton Oswalt, Tom Segura, John Mulaney. I love early Family Guy and especially the first few seasons of Archer. I like comedy where you have to be at least somewhat educated or aware of culture references to get the jokes or else they'll go right over your head.

Ok then you need to at least make it to "The Boyfriend" episode of Seinfeld w/ Keith Hernandez as a guest star. It's in season 3

Skip ahead and watch some eps from the last couple years. If you still don’t dig it, then it’s just not your thing.

I skip watching syndicated stuff from the first couple seasons when they run on TBS or wherever, there’s some real gems in there but it’s just not as funny...yet.

I'm in the same boat. I don't mind watching Seinfeld if it's on, but I'm not going out of my way to watch. I like the 4 or 5 most popular episodes but that's about it.

I'm not sure I would suggest anyone "starts" Seinfeld anywhere other than Season 3 Episode 1.

If "I think it moved" doesn't get you, you may as well quit the show altogether.

One of my favorites is when they have dinner with the Polish immigrant family member.

Season 3-5 are absolutely great. Lot of pop culture there. Season 8-9 are very different with Larry gone.

But the show didn’t find its voice until season 4. If you watch The Contest and don’t laugh your arse off, then the show is just not for you.

Don’t worry. I think it’s common for people to feel very one way or the other with the show.
I personally do not like. I can’t stand the people. Like the actual characters. They just run me the wrong way. But one of my best buddies absolutely thinks it’s the greatest thing to ever be in tv.

Seasons 5-7 are epic.

Seinfeld was rolling then.
