He would have been Neo in The Matrix

Anyone besides Sophia Coppola in Godfather 3.

I’d replace John Cusack with Matthew Modine in Runaway Jury. It’s my favorite Grisham book, and the whole time I was was reading it I pictured Modine as that character. I’ve always liked Cusack, but just didn’t envision him in that role.

Leslie Jones for Tom hanks in cast away

Replace that hideous chick from the Invisible Man. I’m sure you could throw a dead cat in LA and find someone that could carry it AND is easy on the eyes

Chris Helmsworth is exactly as the character is written.
I don't think Reacher is that pretty.
Ray Stevenson or somebody like that, may be too old but he is Cruise's age but Cruise looks young for his age or did at the time

replace Alec Baldwin in The Hunt for Red October with damn near anyone else!
ETA: this movie has such a great cast otherwise that Baldwin is a glaringly bad choice even aside from his political rantings.
Supposedly Harrison Ford turned down the role only to take it up in later Clancy movies, but I don't like him as Ryan at all though he's better than Baldwin. IMDB says that Kevin Costner turned down the Jack Ryan role to make Dances with Wolves ... I think I could see Costner here.
Supposedly Schwarznegger was considered for Marko Ramius before they went with Sean Connery. That would have been disastrous!

Replace Hayden Christensen in the Prequels with any person with or without a pulse.
Replace Brie Larson in Capt Marvel with any random wannabe actress waiting tables in Hollywood.
The guy who played Raiden in MK was horribly miscast.
And of course Maggie in Batman. Replace her with an old shoe or something to make the romance more believable.
And I think Christian Bale is great but I didn’t like him as Moses.

In all fairness, I don't think any actor could've saved that movie.

admittedly I haven't read the source books, but I thought Cruise did OK; a good friend of mine who has read them agrees that Cruise is a big departure from the way the character is written but still did OK

Peak will smith was the issue, not the 3000 foot tall mechanical confederate spider

It’s a TV show but the actor who plays Uhtred in Last Kingdom is terribly miscast. The books portray Uhtred as being tall, menacing, arrogant, intelligent yet impulsive...the actor does ok with the arrogance and impulsiveness but conveys none of the physicality and brutality that Uhtred needs in order for his story to really make sense.

Replace Frank Morgan as The Wizard Of Oz
with the actor they originally wanted in the role:
Ever since I found that out years ago, I’ve always watched the film imagining all of the wizard’s lines being delivered in that classic Fieldsian style.

They missed the boat not casting Kathryn Winnick as Danvers years ago.

I think we may have a winner. I did not think anyone else had heard of that movie, well except for horndogs like me.

Replace ugly Kelly McGillis in Top Gun with Michelle Pfeiffer.
Replace the flat-chested Lori Singer from the original Footloose with Elizabeth Shue.
Those two women ruined those movies in my pre-teen years.

Still can’t believe Kenneth Branaugh agreed to be in it.
At least the movie gave us

I felt like I was 13 again. Definitely fast forwarded through the boring parts and then erased it from the previously viewed area (can’t remember if it was on Netflix, Comcast on demand, or what)

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Denzel Washington fan. I watch all of his movies and enjoy them, but I didn't care for him in The Pelican Brief. I read the book and did not think he was a good fit for Gray Grantham.
