And just to clarify, I am in no way saying that Breaking Bad is a bad show. It's just extremely overrated IMO.

Yes. I enjoy BB and do not like WD at all, but I cannot account for other peoples taste.

So the series finale of one of the supposed greatest shows ever had 2 million less viewers than a season 3 finale of what many have essentially said isn't a very good show.

a lot of shitty shows have tons of viewers... the average person is a fricking retard. how many people watch american idol and honey boo chgild and shite

im not saying walking dead is bad or that you have to be stupid to watch it, but it definitely caters to a broader, more popcorn-friendly crowd.

Idiots love blood & gore. This world is filled with a lot more idiots than intelligent people. Therefore, it makes sense that a show who's focal point is going on a murderous rampage of zombies would draw in more viewers than a show like Breaking Bad.

Agree to a certain extent. The storyline just drew me in more so than Breaking Bad.

You said The Walking Dead was a better show than Breaking Bad which could not be less factual. All that means is that it appeals to the masses and the masses are pretty fricking stupid. Did you also think Avatar was the greatest movie ever since it broke every box office record?

To me, The Walking Dead is more entertaining and a better show. So yes, that is factual.

Let me rephrase. Idiots love violence. The Walking Dead features much more violence than Breaking Bad. Therefore, to your average idiot of society, Walking Dead>Breaking Bad.

Hey man.I watched it from the 1st episode.I loved it.
I know nothing about Meth and could care less.So that didn't factor.
I've never seen any show that good from acting, music, plot, imagery, maybe on any medium.

It got better and more on the edge of your seat moments every Season. If there was an excitement entertainment graph it would be a line going straight up.

Vince Gilligan was our stotyteller.I'll defer to him to explain the whys of it.For me it was perfect.

It's like my Grandfather would say when asked how he was."Just right".

This is JMHO so that's just me.

To your question,I don't know.I like to think of it like it was a Novel. The story just ended.

the best shows are ones that just want to tell a complete, coherent story. if it takes 4 seasons, so be it. if it takes 9, that's okay too. im planning an entire series out right now and itll be 4, maybe 5 seasons tops.

Agreed. Breaking Bad started out slow, but had great pacing, and it just continued to get better. I'd rather a show go out on top than last 2-4 more years than it needed to. In regards to Game of Thrones, the showrunners have Martin's books to adapt. Therefore, the absolute minimum amount of seasons they'd need is 7, but they'll probably end up doing 8 seasons. I don't see the GoT showrunners going beyond 8 seasons, simply because they know the material they have to work with, and what it takes to get from Point A to Point B with the different characters.

Buddy, you can't come on here with a thread title that suggests Breaking Bad isn't as good as it's cracked up to be. This board is BB obsessed.

It's fantastic. There is more going on in one scene than most shows have in a season. And I don't mean action or plot development, I mean moments of excellence, brush strokes so fine that it takes multiple viewings to catch their depth. Watch it once to enjoy the ride. Watch it again to marvel at the detail.
