Also at least one of those movies are actually good, not getting the blanket hate.

I'm not talking about the finished product. I'm talking about the build up. So, yea

Lucy is nothing like any of those movies. I'm not sure you've even read a plot synopsis of it if you're including it.

Had no ambition to see this film.

Most interesting part will be the after credits scene involving another character

I've seen Lucy, I dont care what the plot synopsis is. And if I had to guess, the ratings arent the greatest.

I don't want to live in a world in which we do not appreciate the super cool vibe of Atomic Blonde or the go for broke insane fun of Lucy. I love both of those movies. Atomic Blonde especially has style to burn. It's from the same team that made John Wick, and I think it's the superior film, which is some high praise because John Wick is amazing.

Again, fair enough, I removed Atomic Blonde. But I have to disagree with Lucy, that was in no way insane fun, for me at least. I cant tell you what is fun or not though and im not trying to. Just now checking out the ratings, it's a mediocre 6.4/10 on IMDB and, even though I dont put stock in Rotten Tomatoes it seems to be a go to reference, it has a %47 audience score.

I'm well aware Lucy was widely panned. I'm saying those people are wrong, who did not appreciate the movie's truly go for broke insanity.

Lucy is f'n bonkers, and I enjoyed the hell out of it. Then again, I also love Jupiter Ascending, for much the same reason.

Brie got slammed from day 1.

I think Scarlet gets a pass because she was in the most successful franchise in history and she deserves a break.

Having said that, I have zero interest in her movie. In fairness to her, I have Super Hero fatigue and I've skipped the last pile of Super Hero movies in both universes.

It’s a great movie if you love jump cuts and men not just stepping out of the way while she flings her defenseless body at them while trying to wrap her legs around their necks.

So you've already seen it?

All the movies he listed are wildly different, with the possible exception of Anna (I haven't seen it, but it is from the same director as Lucy).

And any male who thought Atomic Blonde didn't at the very least "look good" with that cast is lying.

Yea Black Widow isnt an R rated Tarantino movie. That looked nothing like Black Widow.

Also, that ended with one of them with a knife in their chest.

thats your argument? that both women didn't stop fighting and share a cup of coffee until one of them tried to pull out a gun in a box of cereal.

Lucy was so much fun, I dug it.

And although I won't say Atomic Blonde is better than John Wick, it's dang close.

My secret panned film love is Southland Tales. You want bonkers, that film is incredible.

If this wasn't Marvel it would just be a another Hanna, Salt, Anna and Lucy movie that nobody cares for. But with this, the majority of the people have the "that actually looks pretty good" opinion and are excited to see it.

First AB, Lucy and Hanna are all good films. Quite good actually.

But you're also making the mistake of comparing mostly one off films, that are REAL films mostly - meaning that they focus on replicating reality (sans Lucy), and a comic book film with an established character that has now appeared in like 10 movies.

Maybe the fact that it's a comic book changes things? Maybe the fact that people have grown to like BW beyond her being just a girl kicking butt is another? Maybe the idea that she had one of the biggest sacrifices in the MCU, and this is part of her story is important?

You're missing all of the good stuff as to why Black Widow might be interesting and focusing on stuff that is overshadowed - Strictly because this is a developed character.

It looks like an MCU film. We don't know if that's good (goes beyond what other MCU films have done or carves it's own niche) or bad (is bogged down by relying on the MCU). Marvel has always done a good job at hiding the real film in trailers.

But people are interested, or less aggressive about it, because Widow has been a super solid character and Johansson has owned the role.

And, as Myth said, none of this makes sense with the backlash that Captain Marvel is still receiving to this day.

But you realized that at no point were either one of them not thinking about killing the other person.

It's basically a comedy scene in Black Widow. Lets fight and hold guns at each others face and try and stab each other and break a whole bunch of crap because it will be fun I guess?

Im not saying the scene in Kill Bill was great, but it actually was a legit fight to the death not a stupid pretend fight.

I'm like Baloo on this one. It's a ridiculous movie with a generally incoherent plot and setup.

But I always watch it when it's on

(I'm not saying it's a great movie, but what it wants to do, it was a lot of fun. The ending is nuts, but kind of endearing all at the sam time).

To be fair, I was off your Xmas card list when I recommended Babylon 5

Sure semantics you didn't say great but most people will take Quite Good to mean great.

And no I left you on after the Babylon 5 debacle but Lucy is just to much for me to bear.
