I want to gripe some more about Endgame, especially the ending

*****Spoilers Below*****
How in the hell are we supposed to believe the ONLY way they won in over 14 million tries was for Tony to snap his fingers in that instant?
Captain Marvel destroys Thanos' ship rendering them planetside. Then, the only person we've seen capable of interstellar travel without a ship grabs the gauntlet and heads straight into the enemy lines.
Why didn't she just nope the frick out of dodge with the stones and allow the Avengers to beat the shite out of Thanos and Co.? Hell, she could have stashed it on the Moon and rejoined the fight herself.
They didn't return the stones to their rightful places until after Tony's funeral. Why rush then?

I’d say the more major factor was Antman getting released from the Quantum World than what Tony did. The way he’s released, that’s not very likely to happen.

Yeah, this was just outright stupid. Hide it on the Moon for now and kill Thanos and the Black Order. The Masters of the Mystic Arts alone should have been able to take them down and relatively quickly as well (Thanos needed 4 Stones to take out Dr Strange).

Why couldn't Cap, Iron Man, and Thor with Mjolnir and Stormbreaker beat Thanos when he had no stones?

because it's a comic book movie
Doctor Strange sees it in IW. He doesn't tell Tony because he knows if Tony thinks about it he probably won't sacrifice himself. He lets go of the time stone knowing the only winning instance has him doing that.
In Endgame, Stark asks him if this is it and there's an understanding between the two of them that it doesn't need to be said. Strange basically tells him that it won't happen if he spells it out for him. That's why Stark says "you better be right."

My problem is with the snap itself. We’ve seen people materialize right where they disappeared from all those years ago. So everyone that was in a plane fell out of the sky. Everyone that was in a car appeared in the middle of a street and caused wrecks and possibly a lot of deaths. The sudden reappearance of billions of people all at once would cause untold amounts of chaos and casualties. So that probably wasn’t the best idea.
That being said, the new show brushed it aside so I guess it wasn’t a problem somehow

I'm pretty sure he had a stone then.

Y’all think about this stuff too much. The ending of Endgame sucked because it was another mindless CGI battle.

It had some moments, but the plot was a mess, the way they tied everything together was a mess - I enjoyed it, but the Avengers movies got worse and worse.
I mean, Civil War is a better "Avengers" movie than the second or third main film.

I get that.
My issue is Dr. Strange obviously saw Captain Marvel in his search and the only way to win was the bullshite ending we got?
She is indestructible, can travel at warp speed (shown in Captain Marvel) and her best course of action is to fly straight into Thanos and his troops?
If they immediately returned the stones I could wrap my head around it. They waited weeks before sending Captain America back in time though.
fricking stupid.

Just enjoy the cinematic amusement park and don’t give it much thought

No, after his ship blows up Avengers HQ the gauntlet is underneath the rubble. Iron Man says "All I know is he doesn't have them" when asked where the stones are.

i'm fine with the other questions brought forward as being drama for a movie. have to have some bad decisions/unanswered movie magic driving some drama.
but keeping the gauntlet around was kinda stupid.

Making Captain Marvel the game winning member of the Avengers in the Infinity Saga would have at least justified her appearance in Endgame.
She accomplished two main tasks: 1) returning Tony to Earth and 2) taking down Thanos’s ship in the final battle.
Would have been a cool subversion of expectations if, right as the audience thinks Tony Stark is about to die, Carol comes up and says “Want me to do that? I’m kinda just as strong as Banner. I should be able to handle it.” And Starks like “would you please?”
But I guess they would not have had a way to retire RDJ if they had done that.
As it stands, with as many Avengers as they had in that final battle, does Carol do anything that anyone one of the others couldn’t do? Thor probably could have fricked Thanos’s ship up if he had wanted to.

This was Tony and Steve's swan song in the MCU. The ending had to be about them.

They had to have a plot. There are tons of other ways to do things easier, but then why even have a movie?
For instance, why not transport to Titan while they have Thanos immobilized, knock Quills arse out, and take those stones from Thanos there. Literally 5 of them are in one spot and the soul stone can be taken without anyone having to be sacrificed. Then go back to right before Vision is created and take that stone. Done and done.

I think my favorite part of Endgame, and I think I was the only person in the theater to get the homage, is the main characters signing their farewell signatures, which is straight out of Star Trek VI:
I think Kevin Feige came out and acknowledge the homage in interviews after the movie was released.

Grown men arguing over a shitty comic book movie. It was not good. Accept it.

I mean, it was fun and exciting and I think was a great send off for both Iron Man and Captain America and Thanos comes across as even more terrifying in this movie the IW. It’s definitely not perfect but it is an enjoyable and risk taking film (if only for everything that came before it).

Why did Captain Marvel have to exist?
Posted on 3/22/21 at 5:42 pm to TideSaint
I enjoyed the hell out of the one movies. But I didn’t spend a whole lot of time analyzing the plots and plot holes.
Not sure why anyone would.
They were fun popcorn superhero flicks. No need to read anything more into it.
