Except when she’s exactly like her father. Crucifying her enemies when her advisor selmy requested mercy. She was watched her brother get molten silver poured on him. She burned opposing armies who had surrendered

One thing that I think almost everyone agrees with is that even when good this season, it is very rushed. That the portrayal of the story would be improved with 5-6 more episodes covering the same material is pretty uncontroversial, I'd hope.

It was a good action movie.
But that’s not what this story is about. In reality, it was shite.

Aside from Tyrion turning on Varys, I thought last night was good. I am, overall, disappointed in the season- probably due to the fact that it took 2 years and it just hasn't lived up to my expectations.

Funny enough they spent about 1.5 episodes with nothing but reunions and filler dialogue for deaths that never occurred and character departures that took place with no emotional impact whatsoever.

It would satisfy my itch for more episodes more than anything. I genuinely don't believe it would provide that much more to the season. People complain about manufactured drama and conflict, and more episodes would have done plenty of that.

It’s funny Dany saying she wanted to the rid of the world tyrants literally 5 minutes before then goes and destroys the city and innocent people.

It’s like some of you are missing the theme to the entire show.

It pretty much takes a piss on her entire arc to this point. She learned nothing since she was a teenager who thought the world owed her something. Why did I waste hours of my life watching her frick around in mereen if she’s just as bad as the Slave owners. Why did I have to hear her and other talk about she’s different than her brother and father for 7.5 seasons but at the last second actually she is just like her father and brother. It completely undermines her entire build to that point.

Dany's brother was beloved and a good man. Dany wasn't just as bad as the slave owners but what has happened to her over the past few seasons has brought her to the brink. She lost 2 of her children. Her best friend was beheaded in front of her. Her entire journey was predicated on her being the rightful heir of the Iron Throne and no only is she not the rightful heir but it happens to be the man she is in love with that won't show her affection back because of what he knows now. Dany is also just in her early 20s. They've been setting this mad queen thing up for a while. While I don't like other decisions they've made this one was well done.

People get fired from work and go back to kill everyone there, yet Dany being betrayed by Jon, Varys, and Tyrion, as well as losing Melisandre, isn't a realistic tipping point for some of you?

Not to murdering a million people. Aerys had a way better reason to burn King’s Landing than she did. Going around crucifying and pouring wildfire over Cersei’s entire army, sure, but Dany has always had a soft spot for the weak and innocent.

Why? The episode was incredibly fun and a beautifully shot episode. There was still a lot of very stupid stuff in the episode, especially with the story.

They maybe could have used some of the filler time in the last two episodes to, say, have Dany execute a notable cast member or two, or maybe some of her own soldiers, for seemingly insignificant mistakes. Maybe had her mention in passing that she didn't care about the people of King's Landing so long as she ultimately took over. Something to bridge the gap between her character before and after.

Yeah but I think people complain because their favored part of the story isn't getting much attention while some useless character relationship gets 15 minutes in a short season.

I think good writers could have legitimately done much more with Jamie's return, for example. The Varys write off. The Jon-Dany breakdown, and many more. Take any one of those and give them an extra 40 minutes this season and 80% of watchers will be pissed because to them it means something else is being sacrificed. But with 10-12 episodes you could do all of it and satiate a lot of people.

In other words, I think a lot of the "manufactured drama and conflict" is anxiety-driven because everyone knows we're running out of time.

I'm speaking about Rhaegar. Visyres is a throw away in this stroy. Rhaegar is one of the most important people ever in this story.
