re: I never got why Eric Andre wasn't more popular. Easily the craziest late night host.

Also, Andre was solid in Righteous Gemstones.
That's where he shines imo, being in a supporting role on a show/movie. He was great in Man Seeking Woman and even his bit part in the 2nd Happy Gilmore movie.

That show is like Space Ghost: Coast to Coast on acid.
SGC2C was already fricking crazy. But at least it was funny. Why throw an acid tab into it?

Did you like Jackass
I liked it well enough at the time. But even that was mainly them doing wicked shite to each other. It wasn’t all just them being assholes to the general public for clicks and likes.

The scene in the last episode where he and his wife tried to recreate the getaway from Young Guns was hilarious. When the box broke open after him throwing it off the balcony with his wife inside

I generally appreciate absurdist humor and deadpan delivery, but Eric Andre just seems like an ADD kid who thinks it's funny to yell at people.
He is utterly unimpressive in interviews when he should drop character a little bit and engage in conversation, so maybe that's just him. But I guess there's always been an audience for unlikable douchebags.

I have read that he isn't great to work with. He apparently can dish it but can't take it. He loves pokig fun at others but gets his feelings hurt when he is the butt of the joke.

never saw the talk show but as the sidekick in a few shows in the 20-teens, he was pretty good. IDK if it was him, his agent or what, but maybe he reached the level he should have.

I heard a comedian say that even when you draw large crowds, 90% of the population still thinks you suck or are not their cup of tea. You just have to focus on the small percentage that likes what you do.
I’m in the masses that don’t totally get Andre, but he has his people.

I still think this is one of the funniest things I've ever seen

Yeah I don't get Eric Andre or Tim Heidecker of the "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!". Obligitory GIF,,
It seemed years ago like these guys comedy was taking over Adult Swim.
I never got it. Loved Space Ghost, Sealab, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, Boondocks, and old Robot Chicken.
But these guys....
I do see that Bob Odenkirk and John C Reilly contribute to their work, so I cut them some slack.
Of course , now I've cut cable. Goodbye Adult Swim.
My youngest son really likes these guys, so I just chalk it up to a difference of generations.
