I just finished the Battlestar Gallactica reboot and i have questions. SPOILERS

Been a while since I saw the series, but the ending seemed pretty blurry when it comes to human and cylon history. Basically the Cylons had become so good at mimicking humans, even down to the very DNA level, there was a mixing of the ‘races’.

Also the cycle of humanity, creating artificial intelligent beings, a.k.a. toasters, who then rebelled and waged war against humans had occurred several times over, not just once.

I don't know why people don't like the ending. What else did they want? I think it is perfect.

They had already found Earth (the first one) earlier and it was destroyed. It is our Earth that they end up on and they are in an early Neanderthals period. They destroy everything to break the cycle and start over so they do not bring their evils with them to this new planet. Some early explorers to the Americas would burn their ships so everyone would be all in starting a new and wouldn't have the temptation to revert back to the old place and ways if things got tough.

Flash forward 150,000 years. There is a news story of finding the oldest human ancestor (it was the little human/cylon hybrid girl from Galactica that they show running around). Then you see Baltar and Six discussing all that is happening on Earth is just exactly as it happened on Earth (the first one), Caprica, and Kobol before. And they then discuss if it will happen again with one thinking for sure and the other thinking maybe this time will be different (very similar in theme to Jacob and MIB on LOST). It ends with the TV showing humans on Earth are developing robots and AI just like had happened before. It is ambiguous but leaves me thinking they will end up the same.

The only thing confusing about the ending to me is what Baltar and Six are? Are they the same people and Cylons are still wandering around the universe and popped in to see what was going on with this planet since back in the day? Was Baltar indeed a Cylon as you asked? Are they angels? This could be since they are talking about God saying "you know he doesn't like that name" like they know him personally.

Was there something else that was confusing? Not being an arse, just wondering and maybe I could answer that to help. Hope this was helpful.

I was curious and did some research and it says that the Baltar and Six we see at the end, and also when the real Baltar and Six get to the new Earth, are their ethereal selves, whatever that is. I say angels.

Not sure on Starbuck. Looked that up as well and most think she was not a cylon, but also an ethereal/angel. She died and when she came back she was an angel. Not sure about that.

I can't remember for sure if they explained it, but I figured in the original mini-series that Baltar was actually messing around with the real Six at first and then she implanted something in him so that she was always in his head after that. Looked that up and the other theory is she was the ethereal/angel Six.

I loved this show. Just as I loved Lost.

Both suffered from the same problem. The writers kept adding mystery after mystery, with no apparent fricking clue what the answers were. Both shows had incredible characters, acting, writing, and visuals. But they were both riding the "tune in next week, all secrets will be revealed" wave and it showed in the piss poor endings. Both shows left tons of plot holes and unanswered questions. Both shows ended in ways that felt like the writers just decided "frick it, we gotta land this thing, ignore all that extra shite we've been teasing about for seasons"

I loved both shows, until the endings. They can both eat bags of dicks.

The recycled, over and over again ancestry just loses me in the significance of it all. That’s not how galaxies or the universe works.

It almost sounds like they drew a little bit of inspiration from Foundation.

I agree. After they found the bombed out Earth. Then got to our Earth it really fell apart.
I'm still not sure how I belt after the final five were revealed either. I guess it's good we got an ending but it was an odd one. They were looking for earth. Found it. It was destroyed. Then they find our earth and decide to live with the cavemen.
Also flashing forward the ghosts/souls/spirits of six and Baltar was odd

I didn’t watch any of the stand alone movies like Razor. How long before the Caprica Cylon uprising was the one on Kobol?

Also when Admiral Adama would get pissed at someone I would say in my Cartman voice “How do I reach theeeeese kids”
