Because that would take away screen time from the LGBTQ representation. If you are going to have an lgbtq character, they have to be shown pursuing lgbtq relationships, otherwise you wouldn't know if they were lgbtq. So you need plenty of screen time to show off the lgbtq scenes.

Yes. His character arc has probably been the most detailed and complete of anyone on the show.

I’m on the Steve deserves better than her train. If her real life drug problem induced physical deterioration continues on this arc, he’d be better off with Vecna.

Not really. Maybe in his earliest scenes. But he was a good guy already in season one.

I read your first sentence and rolled my eyes. Then, after reading the rest, I realized that is exactly what they did this season. There was just a huge tragedy in town. One friend died and another is in a coma. A powerful evil is still out in the world. Let's pause all that and make sure we show Robin getting Molly Ringwald in the end to break up any emotion we have been building.
Back to Steve, though. Steve is going to need to focus on Dustin next season. He needs his old bud back in his life since his new bud got eaten by demobats.
