Every once in a while it's great to have a thread about how much we appreciate this board and the stellar roster of posters it boasts. This is the greatest board in the history of the interwebz. It's the only one to which I feel such a personal attachment that I actually take the time to bitch at people who threaten to disturb its sanctity. On any other board, I just ignore bullshite unless of course someone is trashing my home board. Then it's go time!

quote:

Other reasons this board is awesome: muppet, psych, myth, Freaux, baloo, etm, jamhon, cough, flair, pectus, superior, stuckintexas, leauxgen, coco, vilma, landshark, Zamoro, godfather, fury, kafka, countingtiger, h town, sophandros, slo, ipod, obudan, tduece, caterpillar, vor, acre, beast1, ajf, the tyger's, sg, ala, green chill, bayou, glaucon, cad, tulanetiger, rondo, dab, fletch, tiger, froman, filmmaker, wg, scruffy, the limited number of females that post here, etc. Order don't matter.
I'm gonna ignore the "order don't matter" part and go ahead and celebrate: FIRST ROW BITCHES!! HAHAHA! Suck it, peasants! BANANADANCE!

On a serious note, I'd like to add to this heartwarming circlejerk by saying that the people that post here make this board awesome. When I'm cooped up in the office, or up too late working on stuff like I am now and just need to take a brain break, you guys are a great group to hang out with. We come from many different walks of life and backgrounds but this board allows me to just clown around or have some great intellectually-stimulating conversations just being myself, because that's what I am IRL. Just a goofy lighthearted guy who occasionally likes to talk about some deep shite every now and then.

There are posters here that are funnier than I've ever been, others who are smarter or cleverer, others who know more and are better critics of movies, TV, and literature than I am, others who are better writers than I could ever hope to be, and many who fall into a few or all of those categories. I'm just glad to be a part of this great thing that you ladies and gentlemen have made so great.

Yay. Anyone care to hear my Star Wars Ep, 1-3 and Transformers rewrites?

I didn't think so. But I'm going to put them out there eventually anyway.

I really like this paragraph because it makes me see that movies are the stepping stones that make us have the neat discussions. So it's not really about the movie we're discussing but more about what we are trying to say and where we are coming form in our discussion, and who we are discussing it with. And all the creativity within that.

It's a synergy. And movies/tv are just the catalyst.

P.S.> seeing the M/TV Board familiars on other boards is similar to seeing your teacher in a store and not at school. It's just weird sometimes.

I am very full of my own opinion when it comes to movies. I used to write reviews, then realized how arrogant you must have to be to tell somebody you don't know what movies they should see. Then I started working in the film industry and noticed how soulless we all are, especially producers. But the movie board is an awesome group of differing opinions and great knowledge that may even rival my own. It's the only place I've ever respected the opinion of someone who told me I may be wrong.

When I lived in L.A. I felt like I was surrounded by the most desperate people on earth.

I wasn't in town but a couple of months and people were already showing me their screenplay hoping I'd shop it for them. That's desperation. As far as the "soulless" part, people in the business fake it pretty well until you learn to spot the real phonies.

Although I will say I have known some pretty decent people in the industry.

I feel like a proud dad when somebody like you gets his start here and gets heckled as a DanMan alter then goes on to rocket to stardom on the major boards like the OT and win a Droppie. *sniff*

TigerMyth36, you are right. At the time I was busy (read: about to tailgate) I finally took the time to read the entire thread. If I hadn't I would have missed out on the opportunity to see Stacy Dash's magnificent arse.

If I hadn't read through eventually I would have denied myself the proof that the OP is correct: best posters, great posts.

Oh I didn't even have tix, just went over to celebrate, and it was a ton of fun. felt good to get back around thousands of people who only cared about two things: LSU football and pouring more booze down their throats, Football season has arrived.

back on "topic", Dana Delaney is still super.
