Viking-era Scandinavia is different than I expected.

Apparently this was announced a couple of months ago, but see no reference to it on this board and found it...amusing.

Friend,

When is the release date? I suppose the producers wanted to keep alive the tradition of the ethnically diverse Astrid, as the original 2010 production had Honduran American America Ferrera as Astrid.

Yours,

Wait...it's 2023 and we've seen movie after movie race swap at least one main character in every movie released in the last 5 years...

This is the most expected thing ever.

There a story on the OT about claims being made that black people built Stonehenge. Pretty soon, white people will just be rumors.

I remember watching Idiocracy the first time thinking, "How could we ever get to that point?"

I now know the answer...Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

The more changes that are made to these things, the more encroachment there is on things that "matter" like actual historical facts. And eventually, as fewer and fewer people exist that know the ACTUAL history of things, fiction will become fact.

That's it. I'm cancelling all streaming services, cutting up my AMC Stubs Card and increasing my intake of gluten.

Ah another live action remake of a great animated film. Let me guess the movie will be boringly unoriginal and will change certain scenes in a piss poor attempt to seem creative. They could have cast the whitest girl ever and it would still suck. Casting Nico will hardly be the worst offense, with that being said Nico did great in The Last of Us so at least she’ll give a good performance

She could be Sidney Portier...she'd still be a shitty choice to play a Viking.

Can't believe this has to be said...
