Epic movie, hilarious, up there with movies like Old School, American Pie, and Road Trip.
Plus Tara Reid is smoking hot in it

It's because American Pie and its main cast and others films of its ilk, were basically the high water mark for those actors careers...for Reynolds, it's not even remotely close to his biggest role....or his best.
Its like saying, "why doesnt Not Another Teen Movie or 10 Things I hate About You" get more love?
Well it's because Evans and Ledger are not at all known for those movies now...plus they were released in an abundantly overrsturated market. By 2001-02-ish we were basically 6 or 7 yrs deep into that second, 90s wave of "Teen" flicks. I'd say the era began in 95 with Clueless and ended in 03-04 with Mean Girls.
I also think Reynolds seemed too established already for Van Wikder to stick out now. Remember he had already done Two Guys a Girl and a Pizzs place like 4 or 5 yrs before, The followed up by doing Waiting, Just Friends, etc etc..

Damn Tara was peak "wood" back in those days

That was back when she was running around with TB12...his early days were apparently legendary...

Just looked up pictures of Tara Reid. What has been seen cannot be unseen.

I think she made a deal with a witch to give her hotness and fame for a certain time then she turns into a hag

I was going to write that down, but I didn't have a pen. So I'll just remember that.

It was back when Kal Penn was actually funny, before he went full SJW.

Old School doesn’t belong in the same stratosphere as those other movies.

Old School is obviously better.

Yea...
I almost didn’t include it because it’s a much better movie

All of those movies are outclassed by their peers, and so is Van Wilder.
It's funny enough that I'd probably watch it if it came on tv, but I wouldn't grab it from the $5 bin at Wal-Mart.

10 Things I hate About You
The legit GOAT casting for a teen movie, and that's not just my childhood crush on Larisa Oleynik talking.
Soundtrack was pretty good too, just doesn't quite stack up to American Pie 1 and 2 on that front.

Dude, Save Ferris, B.I.G., and a big crooner musical number says you’re wrong
