Darkwing Duck Premiered 33 Years Ago Today: September 6, 1991
Ummm, I guess I was way too old to like Darkwing Duck as much as I did. Interesting.

My kids would watch this show, and the song was in my brain for hours

Back in my LimeWire/Audio Galaxy days, I ended up with a version of the DuckTales theme in Swedish

One thing I loved about that show was that, at the time, there was a trend to have sidekicks or non-title characters doing all the work and the main character was comic relief (Inspector Gadget being probably the best known example). There's nothing wrong with that, but I remember when this first came on not wanting that to happen again.
Darkwing was legit competent. He usually needed some kind of prodding, but he's the one that saves the day - especially in the introductory storyline.
Another thing I love about the intros Disney did then is that they reflected the animation of the show; TMNT, for example, had great animation for the intro and first 5 episodes, then the quality of the animation sank like a rock.

Launchpad McQuack was in Darkwing and Ducktales?
Yup.
Gizmoduck, who was introduced in Ducktales, also appeared in some episodes of Darkwing Duck. It was definitely a shared world.

Another vote for X Men. That one is just perfect.

That's one thing that has been lost with TV of today... original music for cartoon intros.
There are a few still out there. Spidey and His Amazing Friends is sung by Fallout Boy.

I know Scrooge was cheap but keeping Launchpad around all those years was really silly. He had demons and was a liability to the McDuck empire. I imagine if he didn't work for Scrooge he'd live in an efficiency, have a meth problem and date ducks that were cute 3 kids and 2 divorces ago.
