He isn't my all time favorite, but he's great in No Country for Old Men, The Fugitive, Coal Miner's Daughter, Lincoln, The Three Burials movie, In the Valley of Elah, etc.

Well, he was only in that one movie if you can call it that… he’s better known for guitar.
Ohhh… Tommy Lee JONES.
Not only was that a terrible attempt at a joke, you can't even get your facts right.
Tommy Lee is the DRUMMER for Mötley Crue.
Not a guitarist...

He is an excellent and very skilled actor with range.

He's a type-cast actor and does great in those roles. His face is also extremely expressive, great asset for an actor. When he was given roles out of his usual spectrum he struggled immensely and one thing that he fails to do in most films is convince me he is someone other than Tommy Lee Jones.
He did a great job in the Fugitive, probably his best role. Then you have him in Batman Forever, which was really bad and it wasn't 100% his fault but still it looks like he didn't understand the character of Two-Face.

One of the best….and don’t bother arguing, because you’ll be wrong.

“Rules of Engagement” with Sam Jackson was not the same character.
Neither was “Lincoln”.

This is an understatement. He was more than really bad and had no concept of the character.
I'm assuming he took the role for a payday.

He makes movies he’s in better. Usually.
Lonesome Dove. All time.
MIB. Infinitely rewatchable.
The Fugitive. Great.
Space Cowboys. Fun.
Under Seige. Should have won 8 Oscars.
Crap ton of good stuff and a lot of duds, but not really his fault.

I would agree that he “plays the same character” but he has a good range within that character because of his acting ability. Similar to Hackman in his later years, or even Morgan Freeman.
Agree with that. I’d really like to see older big name actors branch out. Maybe they’re not able, or maybe they’re just not interested.

I just can't get past his persona in The Fugitive and US Marshalls.....
That deadpan same delivery, that I would maybe unfairly start seeing in every role. Not saying he's one note but I just forever saw that character in every role.

With the exception of the horrible Batman movie, and as someone else mentioned, he always makes the films he is in better. He was great in a flawed Blue Sky. He did a great job in The Three Burials of Melquades Estrada. I thought he was very good in Cobb.

Overrated. He tackles every character he has exactly the same; the man has no range. He should have never won an Oscar for The Fugitive, either; Ralph Fiennes should’ve won for Schindler’s List. Also should’ve been nominated in the lead category, not supporting; he has more screen time than Ford.
Supposedly, he was real full of himself and was a total jerk to Jim Carrey on the Batman set. Couldn’t stand Carrey being the guy everyone was paying to see.

Well he's a known snob.
Went to Harvard and was roommates with the man who invented the internet and said Earth would be dead by 2020.

I like him, but he's basically the same guy in almost every movie. He's dabbled in being a bad guy, crazy guy etc. but it just doesn't come off right.

Interesting fact, Tommy Lee got his start on a soap opera

I don't like him, but I don't like a lot of things.

I love that show/movie. It might be my favorite western.

It’s like he took his role in Under Siege , did a BUNCH OF METH, then played Two Face.
He hated on Carrey when they were doing BF, calling him a buffoon, but in reality TLJ in that role was the buffoon. And that’s coming from me, a huge Tommy Lee Jones fan. I watched Batman Forever recently and it was painful. Joel Shumacher couldn’t corral all those egos on set and hated all of em.
