How crappy is the family that Kevin has to deal with in Home Alone?

His dad turned out to be a POS dirty cop that was tipping off the mafia. Ended up jumping off a bridge.

They are exceptionally worse in the second one. The choir scene was atrocious. Kevin did nothing wrong and Buzz was entirely in the wrong. But not only did they side with Buzz basically, but they bought into his bullshite apology when he was clearly full of shite. Hell, Uncle Frank was dying laughing in the audience while Kevin was being very publicly humiliated.

The worst part is when the mom has the nerve to go after the desk clerk at the hotel in NYC and she’s like “because of you my son is lost in New York City.” Um…no, you cunt. Because of YOU your son is lost. For the second year in a fricking row. How dare you accuse anybody of anything at that point.

I’m pretty sure the story telling is being told fully from Kevin’s point of view.

So the family is probably pretty exaggerated.

I can’t believe they all let Uncle Frank around their kids. The dude looks like he belongs on every watchlist in the country.

Every kid has had that thought that their family would abandon them. Right?

Especially after...you know...he left Kevin for the second fricking year in a row. He should be thrilled that it seems like Kevin mostly stayed in the room and ordered food instead of walking around NYC alone.


I will say though, this thread is also forgetting how much of a fricking twerp Kevin is in the first movie. He's a total smartass and an a-hole to his family, especially his mom. Now, you can argue that they raised him that way so it's still their fault, and I'd listen to that argument. But he's a fricking dick initially.

I'd gladly watch a movie of Kevin torturing his shite family like Harry and Marv.
