Allicant to Rhaenys: “You would’ve made a better ruler than Viserys.”

Rhaenys: “Gotta go, but first I’m gonna kill a few thousand innocent people who were forced at sword point to go to this coronation shite to show everyone how bad arse frickin’ cool I am.”

Except Aegon has a brother who won't put up with his crap and he is going to need him real soon.

this coronation shite to show

One good Fauxnauguration deserves another, I suppose.

Rhaenys' staring down the Green Council on the dais and blasting them with rank dragon breath was sending a message that she could've ended the entire affair right there, but was refraining.

Meekness is not weakness. It's controlled power.

The girl that was with Daemon earlier in the season and that talked to Otto and delivered Aegon.

I assumed it was Allicent's handmaiden's digs who was outed by Larys as a spy.

I don't think she feels its "her fight" in that moment.

They imprisoned her in her room and would not let her access her Dragon. She only escaped because a kingsguard realized the crown was being stolen and helped her out.

In what world was this "not her fight"?

Edit: I just want to say that while we don't agree on this scene, this is what makes this show so great. We are able to watch the same scene, take different things from it and then passionately debate it. Not many shows create that for the viewer.

Maybe for every other episode until this point, but E9 dragged. Some goofy arse search to find Aegon half the episode and then the long arse coronation ceremony.. Then the crazy scene at the end where you could barely see anything other than dust and a dragon every 20 seconds.

Still a good episode and show, but not near as strong as the first 8.

Knowing that the Dance of Dragons happens, her meekness will cost her and her whole family. She was either weak or stupid in that moment.

If I accept that it was a purposeful choice (and not just show runners being dramatic) to stare them down and send a message instead of actually attacking then I would have to also believe that Rhaenys is just as weak as Viserys was, which might be the case. In that moment she refrained from doing what was best for her family and the realm to keep her conscience clear.

I don't own the book but we are all watching a show that is predicated around a 2 year civil war called Dance of the Dragons.

Yeah, the whole white worm subplot. There are eyes/ears all over the Red Keep. That kid was informing someone about the kings death.

I meant that as she is leaving this fight for Rhaenyra as it's Rhaenyra's claim to the throne that this is all about. If someone is going to throw the world into war by killing half your family, she's going to let Rhaenyra make that call.

Ahhh gotcha thanks for the answers. I like coming here after each show to get the scoop I and others missed.

I binged all 9 seasons of GoT for first time a couple years ago and so much of it was over my head without ever reading the books or having a group to follow along with
