Silver Bullet scared the shite out of me when I was 5 at a sleepover my mom had to come get me. A couple of years later my cool uncle let me watch the Howling and it scared the phuck out of me too. I finally watched both movies later on at the age of 14. Jaws got me too, I'm always on alert when I'm in the ocean because of it.

5 pages and no mention of Leprechaun. I still don't like to watch horror movies and it could every well be this movie that did it.

This may seem dumb but I went to Arachnophobia in the theatres when I was 5 with my older brother and I was deathly afraid of spiders for years. Could feel them in my bed and shower all the time, but alas they were not actually there.
It was traumatizing!

Not really a horror movie...listed as a drama, but when I was about 7 or 8 I watched a movie called Strait Jacket with Joan Crawford. She chops off the heads of her husband and his mistress while they are sleeping in the very first scene.
Joan Crawford = crazy mom reminds me of the TV movie Sybil. Her mom with the knitting needle and enema bag was terrifying, but what still sends shivers up and down my spine is that damn cat.

The Mask with Jim Carey scared the crap out of me as a young child

thanks for the nightmares again.
I used to have tornado dreams all the time as a kid and they were awful. Not sure if it was from wizard of oz or one of those terrible 90s twister movies.

I remembered another one called Damnation Alley. The huge killer cockroaches gave me nightmares for weeks.

#1 The Exorcist (shame on the babysitter for letting me watch this! I think I was like 7 or 8 and it was an 'edited for tv' version and still scared the shite out of me)
#2 Poltergeist (watched this one at home ALONE around age 12 on HBO when it was new when parents were out. Big mistake on my part- nightmares ensued)

Forgot to add this gem to my original list. Creepy, psychotic kid kills a young girl and then hides in the walls of his house and spies on a new family that moves in.

Was 7 when Mom decided to take me to a Disney movie...
Something Wicked This Way Comes...it keeps a low hum of terror growing the whole movie.
I wasn't scared of gore, but SCANNERS is fricking unnerving, even today.

This scared me so badly at 7...
That I left a slumber party early when I found out they were planning to watch this...
Still haven't seen it.

Somethint wicked this way comes

What Lies Beneath freaked me out for some reason. Especially the part where Michelle Pfeiffer changes into that other chick when he kisses her.

We had one of those boxes with the illegal chip, so we got all the movie channels. I can remember watching Child's Play. FML
ETA I was 18 the 1st and ONLY time I saw the exorcist. My bf brought it over, as soon as she turned into the demon I made him take it out of the DVD player and go put it in his car. I did not want that movie anywhere near me
