yup.
the episode was weird, especially robin flying away. you could tell in both her and ted's faces they thought it was fricking stupid.
i thought ted's speech about love was to the wrong ex. it should have been in victoria's face because she was a giant count to ted for the most part and it would have had a bit of double meaning coming from him to her

So it's okay for Ted to destroy her impending wedding but not for her to tell him not to be friends with Robin?

Bad episode. Robin flying away might have been the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
They were pretty much saying for that episode - Let's take our successful comedy, take out all the funny parts, and replace them with disgustingly corny ****.
I liked the past girlfriends calling Ted out on his crap, but otherwise the episode sucked.

correct
i mean the earlier seasons stuff.
also, if she's that willing to call off her wedding, then she probably wasn't ready to get wed anyway

Here's the episode names for the rest of the season:

The End of the Aisle
Last Forever - Part 1 & 2
Mount Vesuvius (Italian: Monte Vesuvio, Latin: Mons Vesuvius) is a stratovolcano in the Gulf of Naples, Italy, about 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) east of Naples and a short distance from the shore. It is one of several volcanoes which form the Campanian volcanic arc. Vesuvius consists of a large cone partially encircled by the steep rim of a summit caldera caused by the collapse of an earlier and originally much higher structure.
Vesuvius is also a great Sufjan Stevens song...I wonder what this episode will be about? Will there be some sort of huge "eruption" / fight between Barney and Robin before the wedding?

that seems the most likely, although maybe not between people we think it'll be.
Also I have a really dumb question, but I'm not nearly as "into" the show I guess as some of yall. Will Ted meeting the mother on the train be like the last minute or two of the whole show, or will they show us how they began talking, started dating, how things progressed, all that stuff?
I know through flash forwards we've already seen some important stuff like him proposing at the light house, but I'm just curious if they're going to be real sticklers on the "how i MET" part of if they'll gives us some more deets after.

I've read that they filmed some scenes with the kids that Bob Saget is talking to way back at the beginning.
I just really hope, when he meets the mom on the train, they cut to the kids with something like "Really Dad? You told us that long arse story and all we get at the culmination is Yellow umbrella Hello?"

little late but I finally watched last weeks episode
frick this show. they just captured all the stupid shite they've been doing for the past 3 years and shoved it into one damn episode
More Ted pining over Robin? OH YAY I BET HES REALLY OVER HER THIS TIME
Lily turns it around on Marshall and just count it up all episode? shocking I tell you!
They just cant let the Ted and Robin thing die. You spend so much time this season telling us why he loves the mother so much...and then everytime right after he starting whining about Robin like they were meant to be
Even the retarded scene where Robin floats away, they still had to show a cut after the credits of them reminiscing about the first date. WOO KEEP THAT DOOR OPEN AGAIN. The writers just don't know what else to make episodes I guess. You finally have established the mother as a likeable character and you chose to spend an entire episode with Robin and Ted watching the sun rise while her fiancé is AWOL. like dude....
You know teds going in that river for the locket, and you know hes going to have 2-3 more "no I want Robin" moments before the last episode ends with...oh yeah I got with that other girl.
Don't even get me started on the Lily part of the episode

So are we done till the finale? I hope not. There has to be more to the story? But then again they probably all need to sleep.

I am now under the belief that because they cant let him and Robin go, that his feelings for the mother are questionable. No way can he be sooooooooooooo in love with her, and her be absolutely perfect for him if he cant give it up with Robin when she is about to get fricking married to his best friend.

Ted will confess his love for robin on his death bed.

Just ruins the whole importance of when him and the mother meet imo

Am I incorrect in my assumption that the whole scene with Robin floating away was a metaphor for Ted finally letting her go? Did they just really do a shitty job with that?

That scene really loses its value when two seconds later after the credits they show them still on the beach reminiscing about their first date and Ted wanting to kiss her then
Plus that scene was friggin terrible

Obviously, Ted settled for the mother.
He just got married to fit in with his friends.

How many more episodes till the finale?

Anyone mind giving me some cliff notes on what has been going on regarding this show the past 2-3 seasons? I don't even remember where I left it. It was appointment TV for me at one time and then I found it to be a chore to go back and watch episodes on the DVR. As much as I tried to keep watching I just couldn't handle it anymore. Though I am curious to see what transpired. Maybe if I have a clue as to where the show is today I will watch the finale. This and show and Weeds are the only 2 shows I just bailed on completely.

Ted being a douche and still pining over Robin. And then getting over her, and letting her go.
Rinse and repeat.

i don't know how many seasons they are currently in. but i feel the show declined bc of having to fill out seasons. i think if the show was two seasons shorter possibly 3 it could be better. if this current storyline of the wedding weekend was a half season and not a whole, it would be better. there's some nuggets of goodness but much of it has to be mined lately.
