Heath Ledger's Joker -vs- Jack Nicholson's Joker

Jack Nicholson had a Golden Globe Nominee for his performance of The Joker.
Heath Ledger won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his performance of The Joker.
Both actors took a different approach with their role.....the question is....which Joker did you enjoy more, Nicholson or Ledger?

I LOVED Nicholson's Joker, but I'm giving the nod to Ledger's because he really showed us the evil inside the Joker.

Each one hit the mark for the general theme of the movie.

Hard to compare a Burton character to a Nolan character. Nicholson's was great at the time, but Ledger's Joker is one of my all time favorite villains.

I think Jack Nicholson took his inspiration from Caesar Romero. And he put a Burton spin on it. While based on the campy TV series, it added darkness. It was greatness.
Ledger's was truer to the Dark Night theme and books. Which is how The Batman was intended to be I think. I would say I liked Ledger's better, because I liked Frank Miller's recreation of the Dark Knight, far better than anything ever done with Batman.

as an adult i much perferred ledger but as a kid i loved jack's
it is comparing apples to oranges
but i personally don't believe ledger gets either award had he not died (bring on the attacks) he gets the nods but not the awards

Ledger, but it isn't a fair contest. TDK was a great dark film, the original Batman was slightly entertaining at best.

Jack's Joker, while highly entertaining, would never exist in real life.
Ledger's flashed a hint of real insanity and random viciousness that could possibly occur, and may have already occurred. It has more gravity when it's a real possibility.
Those scenes with the knife where he threatened to carve a permanent smile on Maggie and others was terrifyingly real. I thought of that Texas model who randomly got her face slashed with a razor in New York and they carved an S-shape in her right cheek to her mouth.
