HBO Max Adds "Proper Social Context" Intro to 'Blazing Saddles'

Apparently no one at Warner Bros/HBO knows what satire is.

A little more than three-minutes long, Stewart's intro puts the bigotry and racist language in context, the host saying, "as the storyline implies the issue of race is front and center in Blazing Saddles. And racist language and attitudes pervade the film. But those attitudes are espoused by characters who are portrayed here as explicitly small-minded, ignorant bigots. The real, and much more enlightened perspective, is provided by the main characters played by Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder."

Every once in a while "Blazing Saddles" will play on a cable channel that has commercials and it is cut to pieces.

Totally ruins the movie to be honest. fricking thin skinned people need to get a life and learn to love comedy for what it is---------satire of the human condition.

So no context for the Kansas City f-bomb or the "French Mistake" scene?

So it's less of a warning and more a way to enlighten the "small minded, ignorant" morons who cannot understand context?

Warning - The movie you are about to see is fricking hilarious and was written and performed at a time when people didn’t bow to political correctness.

“Qualifications?”
“Rape, murder, arson, and rape.”
“You said rape twice.”
“I like rape.”

Yeah a 3 minute video that explains the joke that is the whole point of the movie. If you're too dumb to understand the point of blazing saddles you probably shouldn't watch it.

That’s about as stupid as putting a nudity warning on a porno.

oh thank god this very successful and intelligent professor took 3 minutes out of her very busy life to explain to me, a dumb, ignorant a-hole, the complexities of satire from 45 years ago

there's no way I could have figured this out all on my own
