Apatow announced the cancellation on TBS’ Conan (sort of).

“Well, it’s not really canceled,” Apatow told host Conan O’Brien. “We’re just going to stop making it.”
“What stopped you from making more?” O’Brien asked.
“They told us we should never make any more,” Apatow replied.

I don't really know of I liked the show but I made a point to watch it every week.

On one hand I liked it.... on the other it is sort of self indulgent and narcissistic like most stand up comedian TV shows

How it made 3 seasons is a miracle....unremarkable is a word made for that show.

Honestly, it was never great and this season seemed to just get worse

Just a little too cringey

Wtf. That sucks. Why can't they cancel Ballers or something else shitty instead? Crashing is hilarious and Pete Holmes is very endearing. They did the same thing to Hello, Ladies. Stop killing funny shows, HBO.

I have enjoyed this show. The characters were not very likable, but the process of becoming a comedian was fascinating.

It started out just okay for me, but it has grown into one of my favorite shows.

But they all have to end sometime, and too many American series go on too long and soil their own reputation with shitty final years.

Best to go out with dignity while still making quality episodes.

Oh damn I forgot about the brink. That was really good and I think they announced it was cancelled before they even finished the first season

I have seen every episode, really liked the first season. But this last one was weak. I do enjoy the plot and following Pete's journey as a comedian, really the only thing that kept me watching.

Pete Holmes is so dorky I wanted to dislike him but I can't. Very likable and relatable personality. I do think part of the problem was that it had too many heavy, awkward, dramatic parts recently. That gets to be a chore after awhile.

Jamie Lee was too hot for him and Madeline Wise was way too fugly to be a legit romantic interest character IMO. Apparently they couldn't split the difference. It was weird how they made overt references to Wise being "hot" and never the same for Lee.

I was gonna say this too. My biggest pet peeve in tv is when shows try to force the viewer to think that an ugly chick is hot
