It could be just a code name that’s handed down. We’ve already seen another Captain America and it’s clear Kate Bishop will inherit the Hawkeye moniker.

The one in Agents of SHIELD could just be the next in a line of Mockingbirds.

Which is confusing since they already had Bobbi Morse (aka Mockingbird) in Agents of Shield. I guess it was just a fan service nod to throw the agent 19 in there for her.

My guess is that future MCU projects will just ignore the live action non-theatrical release MCU series that were developed prior to Disney+: Agents of Shield, Inhumans, and the Netflix series (there may be some others that I can’t recall). They’ll continue to bring back some actors to play the same characters while recasting others, but most of those old storylines will largely be forgotten.

Feige famously hated those series and looked down on them.

He really hated AoS, which is a shame.

Well he can eat a bag of dicks if he didn’t like Agents of Shield.

That’s going to be a tough pull since the main character of AoS was the guy that was the rallying cry for forming the original Avengers, and in the Hawkeye finale they focused on Bishop using Kingpin’s cuff link (which was a plot point in Daredevil) against him.

I’m sure Feige just wanted those to be fan fair nods, but still, a lot of fans won’t see it that way.

They had no problem not acknowledging Coulson’s resurrection the entire time AoS was airing.

That final fight scene was incredible. The arrow fights to take out the mafia and Kate getting destroyed by Kingpin . I really enjoyed that series way more than I ever thought I would.

I love the final fight. I had a couple of minor notes and quibbles:

1. Marvel does this a lot - where the heroes get tossed around, but never seem to suffer serious injury. Kate getting tossed like a ragdoll by Kingpin and Clint getting smacked around by a metal baton, but at the end of the fight neither seem seriously hurt at all. Not even sore/stiff really.

2. Kingpin clearly has done something to get super strong and resilient. I imagine this will help if he ends up in a Spider-Man movie (as in the comics he doesn't have powers, but they obviously made him super strong for Into the Spider-Verse)

3. Hawkeye just reminds me more of how badly they botched the timing of the Black Widow movie. If they had the script done and movie made at the same time as when it was set (after Civil War), they could have made some callbacks to Yelena during Infinity War and Endgame and cemented their relationship. Clint saying, "She talked about you all the time" was a line I couldn't help but think, "Really? When?"

Do you assume that every conversation these characters have with one another is on screen? I don’t.

No, I don't.

It was just one of those reminders, as I stated earlier, that the character was clearly introduced in what was essentially a prequel. It just made me wish that Black Widow had come out when it should have, and we could have had some meaningful dialogue for the fans. Maybe even a line or two about how she had spent time searching for her sister after the snap until finding out she was one of the ones that had been dusted.

Yeah, the movies never seemed to mention AoS, but AoS definitely referenced the movies on occasion (especially early on).

I'll have to try and hunt it down, but I thought I read somewhere that Agents of Shield was considered non-canon at the time (despite Coulson, Sif, Maria Hill and Nick Fury all appearing), while the Netflix shows were in a kind of limbo.

Technically only Daredevil has been confirmed based on Hawkeye and No Way Home, but I hope this means that Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, etc are canon.

Not you Iron Fist. NOT YOU.

Romanoff and Barton had been working closely with one another for about 10 years prior to the Battle of New York. You don't think that topic came up? How would Natasha be "Auntie Nat" to Clint's children otherwise?

The episode after Winter Soldier should be the blueprint on how to run a show that is tied to a cinematic universe.

I’m really curious to see how some of these supporting characters in this television shows play into future plot points.

Like will we ever see Jack again? Isaiah Bradley? Jimmy? Darcy? Hayward?

Or are they all just one off (I know Jimmy and Darcy have appeared elsewhere) characters?

One thing that seems like a very strong possibility is that the long game includes setting up some kind of a Young Avengers - We have Wanda's children (Speed and Wiccan, I think); Isiah Bradley's grandson or nephew (I forget which he was); Kate Bishop; maybe Kid Loki or some other young Thor or Loki variant; Ant Man's daughter; and some we haven't met yet.

Indeed. (I've gone back and fixed it).
