Stumbled onto this a week or two ago and I've got to say, it's become a guilty pleasure of mine. They've got Troy and Bruce from the OG swamp people but threw them into the everglades to catch and remove Pythons. These mofos are insane. Running through the everglades at night with nothing but a head lamp snatching up 12+ foot pythons with their hands

Those big arse swamp buggies they use look fun as hell to drive

If anything I'm underselling it. It's awesome. Last night's episode Bruce's "team" got a dog out there and let her run loose sniffing out monster pythons left and right. They list the length and weight after each catch and the majority are all over 100lbs. Snakes don't really bother me like spiders do but I'm not sure I've got the balls to do what they're doing.

i watched about 2 or 3 episodes. was fun but its the damn same thing every time so dont think i'll keep up with it.

Step 1: they find a snake
step 2: over exaggerated hooting and hollering in cajun accent
step 3: snake goes in bag

rinse and repeat.

So basically the same thing as the regular Swamp People show, except with snakes going in a bag instead of alligators going in a boat

I stopped watching a few years ago because it was too much of the same thing over and over. Probably would've kept my interest if they'd have mixed it up and shown more of different swamp activities than just gator hunting. Them baws make a living year round in the swamp and alligator season is only a month of it

I do watch it cause it's fun, but I laugh that every snake is 110lbs or more, yet they sling the sacks around like they weight 25lbs.

Oh, that's because they do weight 25lbs. Snakes don't weigh 10lbs a foot.

Still entertaining though.

Oh, and for you louisiana/florida baws, I would think tromping thru the everglades/swamp there would just be tons of venomous snakes, alligators, spiders and webs, but they rarely see any of those. Is that because it's all staged?

Yeah, I've seen a few episodes, but it gets old pretty fast.

How many times can you listen to them say,

"OH, dat's a big one"

"Watch out for the head or he'll bite you"

Then watch as the bag the snake up and the screen has a written description of the snake.

9 ft. long--------97 lbs.-----worth $95

Then you see any one of them just toss the snake bag over their shoulder with one hand and walk around. They really fudge on the weight of those snakes.

So why do the snakes have to be alive? I think that's what I'm not understanding watching some of it on Youtube.

I honestly haven't even thought about that

It's the perfect "turn your brain off and watch these guys catch snakes" show for me. I wonder why they can't just shoot them like they do the gators.

I think some of the appeal, for me at least, is Troy reminds me of my pawpaw who's health has taken a turn over the last few years. Just a good ol' cajun dude that's funny without really trying.

I have caught the bug as well...that damn Troy Landry!

They are making a killing too. One episode they made $4800 in a day. They are getting $250 and up per snake. They are making a killin'.

They scream and yell and the camera bounces all over and then one guy stands over the snake and just grabs it behind the head. Over and over.

None of them wear gloves, which pisses me off most of all.

But I watched a full episode.

The show in which they used a drone and night vision device to “see” the snakes was cool.

But I think I’ve only seen it once so maybe they do that routinely but I got the impression it was new technology for them.

I use to watch a guy on youtube and he mentioned he didn't kill them until he was leaving his trip.
Something about having to keep them iced for multiple days in a row, when its easier just to let them live and then kill them all.

yea, out of all the shite in the glades, the pythons would probably be the least of my worries.
