They aren’t recasting an actor, they are recasting a character.

Hence the term “the show must go on”

With all due respect for Harrison, but the man is literally 80 years old. For a movie franchise that prides itself on having actors appear in multiple movies.

Why exactly would you hire an 80 year old for the role, who will probably be 82 or 83 by the time this movie comes out.

Word is they wanted to announce this at one of the big conventions a couple of months ago, but Kathleen Kennedy vetoed the announcement because she wanted all the attention on Ford's latest Indiana Jones movie.

I'm surprised she didn't get more grief for that. She's not exactly the most popular person on the M/TV board.
