A true actor, almost no trace of celebrity. A man to be admired on and off screen.

Yup. Gene is a good one. One of my favorite actors.

Gene Hackman is one of the greats. Versatile. Just posted how much I liked him in Heist. Royal, Popeye, even that Will Smith movie. Having said that, I always have heard he was a huge a-hole on set. The only person he didn't intimidate on the Royal Tenenbaums set was Bill Murray.

Loved him in the 2 Grisham films, The Firm and Runaway Jury.

However, my favorite was The Replacements.

Recorded that one on TCM the other night and watched it. He carried that movie. I really enjoyed it. My old man was a cop, it was one of his favorites.

Most don’t know that Popeyes Chicken was named after his character in The French Connection.

Hasn't been in a movie since Welcome to Mooseport in 2004

:MindBlown:

It makes sense when you see he’s 93 now, and the last movie was almost 20 years ago, but he’s just so prolific, and in so many movies you rewatch every year, it’s hard to imagine you haven’t seen him in anything new since 2004.
