My lore knowledge is almost 20 years old so I don’t think that humans or the covenant knew what the flood were before they found the first halo. As frustrating as this has been, they would be a better introduced villain at the end of season 2.

First off, no Kwan again. Rejoice.
Didn’t advance the plot as far as we wanted, but it will be interesting to see what changes they make in season 2 after what happened.

actually, i wonder if this was better than i thought.
all of season 1 could have been the development of Master Chief. if John is truly gone, then all we now have is what we all thought Master Chief should have been.
kind of interesting to see if John ever comes back, or if what we have now is just the killing machine we all planned for.

I agree it would probably make for a show more like what we expected, but he is going to come back and it will probably be in the finale. they still need him for finding the halo.

The first season was cut to nine episodes. I think they left it open as a pseudo cliffhanger, to add tension, but I expect they’ll resolve it immediately next season.

I think he'll be back as John, but hopefully closer to the Master Chief we thought we'd be getting from the start.

So i am now going to catch up since the season is over and I didn’t view this as worth waiting from week to week. Can I skip episode 7 and not miss anything?

Goddammit this show has so much potential.
They tease our buttholes with a spartan laser spec and we never see it.
Chief absolutely pieces together some combos with a shotty. Never see it again.
The fricking prophets are literally sitting in the wide open and NONE of the Spartans think to send a few rounds at their fricking skulls. Just wtf are we really doing with this show.
