Griselda - Netflix

With this many women in a movie there better be some TnA.

Was hoping it was a biopic on Conway the Machine, Westside Gunn and Benny the Butcher.

Ep 1 was meh. Maybe it gets better, maybe the genre is worn out.

I binged it yesterday. It was very short, 5 eps I think. Worth the watch, but don't expect Narcos quality. I thought it was really starting to drag, before I realized that it was ending and they were tying things up. Would have made for a pretty good longer series. I liked most of the actors, several you will recognize. Pacho has gotten fat.

I thought she was fantastic.

I watched the first episode and enjoyed it.

They really did a job on Sofia's face to make her uglier, prosthetic nose, etc. But they couldn't hide those curves,lol.

Finished the series. It was entertaining, but they changed a lot of things about her life.

There is actually a documentary about her that has all the real stuff she did.

She was much tougher earlier in life than the show showed. For instance, she actually shot a kid in the face that she kidnapped when she was 11. She killed her ex husband over drug territory and being disrespected not because he made her sleep with someone. And her travel agent “friend” was actually working with the cops from almost the first time that she bought plane tickets. And she didn’t call the cops on herself. They had been staking out a residence where she was hiding. They busted in and she was reading on a bed. she gave them a fake name, but they already knew it was her.

Real Griselda could crack mirrors in the next room. Saw mugs of her from younger years, at 18-20 she was alright looking.....no great beauty though.
