I wonder if people misunderstood the point of this one. No one even nominated the Baptism scene, that is my personal number one so I added it myself and it really should have beaten Star Wars, as far as scenes go.
That line is iconic but in terms of scenes, but it should not have beaten out The Godfather's baptism scene. The cross-cutting between the murders and the baptism, and the fact that Michael Corleone was becoming a Godfather, and a literal Godfather, was the best thing I think I have ever seen on film.

"I am your father" is a great line and, at the time, HUGE surprise in the trilogy, but as a scene it's average.

Gonna be a sham if that wins. It’s best scene we’re voting on, not most memorable line. If just comparing these 2 scenes, storming the beach should be winning in a landslide

Well, for starters...
It chances things. It is no longer just a protagonist against a bigger and stronger antagonist. It's now father vs son. That alone changes things.

Perhaps you'd like to explain why the heck you decided to not only add the baptism scene,but have it go against one of the most iconic scenes in movie history from the good bad and the ugly in the first round. Both of those should have been in the final eight at least.
But anyway, I'll put in a vote for saving Private Ryan, even though you deserve to have an average scene like I am your father win due to terrible matchups and seeding.

Because the nominations round determines seedings. I explain that over and over again and it does not seem to get through to everyone. I try to create the brackets according to the board as a whole, and how they vote on these things during the Nominations round.
I think one person voted on it but I could not exclude it, or make it a 12-16 seed. I tried to find balance and be fair.
