Since we're doing a list now:

1) The Wire
2) Mr. Show
3) Larry Sanders Show
4) Deadwood
5) BoB
6) Curb
7) Rome
8) Six Feet Under
9) Sopranos
10) Entourage
11) Flight of the Concords

12) True Blood
13) Carnivale

In terms of quality per episode, BoB is #2, but you don't know how it could have done over 4+ seasons like those others ahead of it (Deadwood was just 3). Sopranos really sucked the last few seasons I think, so that hurts it a lot.

1-11 are all EXCELLENT. True Blood is a solid show, couldn't get into Carnivale, haven't seen any other HBO shows. Arrested Development is #1 on my all time, then throw Seinfeld, MST3K, and maybe the Simpsons (seasons 2-8 are the best in television history, but now it has had more bad seasons than good) and MAYBE Futurama. The rest of my top 15 would be those HBO shows.

Sopranos was good until the later seasons, although the last season was pretty f'n good

ETA: I'd also throw the first 2-3 seasons of Entourage

Sopranos, easy

Band of Brothers

Deadwood

When the Levees Broke, A Requiem. was pure class warfare lies from the left. The shite about whitey blowing up the levees, it is unbelievable that was allowed that to air. The media will never tell you that a lot more whites died in Katrina than blacks.

Are you asking what is our personal favorite or what is the best all around show? If you want to know the best show to ever be on HBO (or TV for that matter), then there is one simple answer:

Sopranos, no contest.

I remember when I saw the first preview for Dream On when I was in 4th or 5th grade and thinking this was gonna be just straight Pron. I only watched it for teh tits, but as I got a little older it turned into a great show.

also some of my favorite HBO shows as a youngster were the Hitchhiker and 1st and 10...some of my best childhood memories.

The Wire... it amazes me that so many people still haven't seen it. One of the greatest shows ever.
