GOT’s ending wasn’t THAT bad - I kinda liked it

Arya becomes the adventurer she always dreamed of being

Jon finally gets to live free with his closest friends in the true north

Sansa gets to be a Queen finally

Bran gets to go wherever he wheels. He obviously set all this up to get the throne - Dr Strange style

Tyrion commands respect from everyone - what he always wanted

Dany gets what she always wanted - Jon to poke her

I get people don’t like it but it wasn’t terrible by any stretch

Its not the ending (despite all the bitching that would disagree with you).

Its how they got to this point.

They went from X to Z, and they skipped Y.

The real Game of Thrones was the friends we made along the way

It wasn't the abortion many were fearing, it was ok. There were obviously some things that made no sense but not enough to ruin it.

Jon being King beyond the wall makes sense, but how they put him there made no sense.

Had they had another season or two to flush it all out probably would have been a lot better.

This is how I feel. The story beats ultimately all made sense and I like them, but they sorta rushed them through.

Just stole this from another thread because it’s hilarious and shows how much shite the writers just flung at the wall in the last two seasons:

You are correct that the final placement of the pieces was good; however, how we got there was quite poorly done. The episode like most of the last 30 or so was extremely flawed with some good moments in it. I didn’t hate it, but overall it wasn’t very good. The finality of it was satisfying though

The only reason the other lords would vote for bran is because they see him in a wheelchair and think hes harmless. But he can frick all of them, and really already has.

Bran truly was the evil mastermind

He KNEW what was going to go down - the millions of innocents that would die and didn’t warn anyone but let it happen because he knew that path would put him on the throne in the end

He’s actually more evil than Dany and no one sees it

That’s why the ending is awesome

I don't think there's any explanation for him not saying anything besides him being evil. I don't think that's what d&d where going for though. I think they just thought putting bran on the throne would be subversive.

I think Bran being on the throne came from Martin. The muddled road there came from D&D.

Aside from the rush job (and resulting dialogue), the only part that really annoyed me tonight was Sansa. Bitch never did anything but get saved by other people, and now she's Queen of the North telling the rightful heir of Winterfell that she's not going to be a part of his kingdom. And the other lords go along with it. frick Sansa.

If Sansa would have been killed, it might actually have saved this shite season for me. I hate that character with a passion. I hate that fans of the show think she is some kind of hero.

The character started off as a brat that only cared about herself and was willing to sell out her own family. Then after she went through all the shite, she reunited with her brother that she always hated.

The first thing she does is start lying to him. Nearly gets all the people fighting for her killed by not telling them help was on the way.

Then she plots against Jon while he is out trying to save the world. She is straight up thinking about turning on her family until Arya and Bran talk some sense into her.

Then she blatantly commits treason and also screws over Jon. Her telling Tyrion about Jon started everything that followed, just like Littlefinger killing Jon Arryn started everything that followed. No one even called her out on this.

At the end, she embarrassed her uncle in front of everyone. Her newly crowned brother king let’s her out of the deal literally everyone else just made. We know that Dorne doesn’t like following rules, and Yara already asked for freedom. But nope, only Sansa gets freedom.

Just never made sense to me that people were rooting for that character. Even the writers put a line about her being smarter than everyone. Wtf? Rant over.

I absolutely liked the episode. Thought the dialogue scenes were great and the visuals

I’m fine with Bran but my only issue was the Dany storyline

Her death was anticlimactic and we didn’t even get to see the fallout of them finding out she died?

No way greyworm and the Dothraki wouldn’t have chopped Jon’s head off the second they found out. How did they all know it was Jon? Did he just walk in and say “hey guys FYI I just murdered the queen”

I’ve defended this season but last night 75% of it was just nonsense.
