Look I know it was kinda lame that Arya came out of no where and ended the NK but here is the positives:
1) Wights and White Walkers aren't what made this show so great, it was the humans and the politics and the bloodshed.
2) the army of the dead was the worst part of this show imo cuz the storyline really only had 2 possible endings. The one we saw where humans win by a miracle. Or the Army of the dead win and everyone dies.
3) If the army of the dead win then we watched 7+ seasons for no reason at all cuz none of it mattered in the end anyway. At least with this ending to that storyline, everything else we saw wasn't done in vain.
TL;DR: The ending of the WW plot was kinda hokey and unbelievable but at least we can get back to the part of this show that actually makes it great.

Is that an insult? God forbid someone enjoy the show even if they didn't read the unfinished book series.

Glad we are done with medieval walking dead.
As much as they don’t want to admit it but yes the white walker sub plot was a loser for most of the show. The best that the north of the wall had to offer was the battles with the wildlings. Every other memorable moment in the show revolves around the iron throne. Which is why it’s the game of thrones. I think there could have been about 15 min more background on the night king but that’s it. Otherwise it’s medieval cold walking dead

The ridiculous plot armor and fan service is what made this last episode bad.

I agree, I just wish that if they were going to make the WW seem like such an important part of the show, they would've made them an important part of the show. They way they treated them pretty much brought nothing to the show.

I don't think they needed to win, but they just basically just got gentleman swept. They didn't even take out anyone important, it didn't even go to game 7. This was a 4-1 win for the humans, which doesn't seem in line with all other conflicts in this show.

I'm with you Macklin.
I only started watching GOT about 3 months ago, binged it all in a few weeks. The worst part of the show imo was the white walkers and what not. I'm not interested in another fricking zombie movie/show. I get the whole thing is fantasy and what not, but that part of it always made me roll my eyes and stop paying attention.
Glad it's out of the way and we can move on with the real story, who sits on the Iron Throne when it's all said and done.
I know i may be in the minority, but the big battles, especially last night, are the worst part of this show. Boring and pointless. I could have not watched any of that episode last night, was told Arya killed the night king while Theon died protecting Bran, and that would have summed up the entire episode and was all that was needed to know before watching the next one.
Now small little skirmishes, one on one battles, i like those, but these big midevil battles.....waste of time to me for the most part. Outside of a few war tactics from certain individuals, the battles themselves serve no purpose.

Because all the main characters magically survive.
That is the problem with the show.

Sorry they didn’t fan service you by killing Jon.

So we can suspend belief for dragons, shadow babies, witches, etc. but not for the one episode where people actually lived? On a show that’s known for killing off main characters?

Which is why it’s the game of thrones.

If all rules of logic don’t apply then I guess Bran should have air dropped in some AR15s.
The battles end up feeling pointless because everyone the audience really cares about somehow makes it out almost unscathed

The end was too sudden. We should have seen her eyes starting to turn blue then she stabbed him. The NK holding her was for no reason.
Also did she stabbed him with the dagger that was intended to kill Bran way back when?

This was Jon's storyline, so I can see why people are upset about the ending. It would have been nice if Jon, Theon, Bran, and Arya were all present at the NK's death. Theon could have still sacrificed himself. Jon could have crossed blades with the NK and created a distraction while Arya finished him off with the pointy end, just like Jon taught her.
