Remember the prophecy states something like Azor Ahai will be reborn as the Prince Who Was Promised and will use Lightbringer to lead the war against the Great Other.
His flaming sword is regular arse steel. Jon would get murdered real quick by a Walker with that thing.

I think budget and deadlines drive this
I just don't get why HBO would do that, seems hard to believe this is not a money making show, even with the crazy budget this season.
The only thing I remember reading, I think this season's budge is the same as last season, but of course, 3 less shows. Just seems that they'd get their payoff in the end by raising the budget a bit more for 3 more shows, I'd guess without looking that ratings this season are better than last?

What if its nothing special because the Prince that was Promised is not holding it. Lightbringer has to have something to do with the end game, don't you think....and we are getting pretty close to the end.

Well he's not a barbarian. His brother is Ser Gregor. I guess he's just plain old Sandor, but still. He's more than a barbarian.

It's like you don't know the Hound at all.

I'd certainly say that Gregor is a barbarian. The guy bashed a baby's head in and then raped the mother with the baby's brains on him before killing her.

Well with HBO you don't have the usual advertisements for revenue - so not exactly sure how they would quantify what an applicable budget is.

The premiere set the records for biggest HBO viewership (10.1 million) of all time and Episode 4 (10.2 m) broke that record even with the leaked episode being out 3 days earlier. I think it's safe to say this show is getting HBO more exposure and subscriptions than any other show before it.

Did anyone notice Sam's Lady almost gave us the family history on Jon Snow?!

Ya but if you know the series is ending, it may not translate into continued increased memberships so maybe they feel it isn't worth it for additional episodes at this point.

Nope. Nobody. Good catch, mate.

For instance, my entire family watches the show and has an HBO account. 3 of those 5 people didn't have one before GoT. My brother convinced me to watch it during season 2, then we got my mom and sister both into it around season 4.

This is why the Westeros spinoffs are so important. If they can hit a home run with a prequel or something similar, it will payoff big time.

And then getting Sam to literally take 15,732 shits on it.

No. She was talking about Prince Ragger.
Prince Ragger famously left his wife to marry his dog. Nothing special.

Assuming that aria didn't look at that note and immediately think, that's not my sisters hand writing. She's not so naïve, I would hope, as to be fooled by littlefinger so easily.
