not sure if it was mentioned not reading all of the 60+ pages- the depth of the water Jamie fell into?

that was the only thing that threw me

watched the scene again, you can get a fairly good sense that's not much of a river, more of a creek. And Jamie charging Dany with spear, his horse is galloping along that same shoreline.

they ended on a "deep dark lagoon" note there, seemed off

It was a sparring match and you're acting like she killed Brienne. Could Arya win? Yes, but only if she lasted long enough to go for the throat like she did at the end of the sparring.

Brienne's valyrian steel sword has cut a proper sword in 2 earlier this show

Arya could not rely on needle for defense whatsoever

Was it Dickon or Bronn who knocked Jamie off his horse, saving him from a fiery death? Dickon did save him once during the battle . . .

I watched the replay and couldn't tell.

Its been discussed. Definitely an oversight on their part... Jaime should be able to simply stand up where he landed, not slowly sink into 50ft of caribbean clear water when he as just on the shoreline of a murky creek

I mentioned this last night and was basically called an idiot because surely I'd seen lakes where it goes from shallow to a deep drop off instantly.

Screen cap of gloves shows it was the ones Bronn was wearing.

Jesus, let me say this again.... a 15 year old girl is not fast enough to just "dodge" a sword swung at full strength. Being small does not make you automatically have super speed. There are 15 year old girls tearing up UFC because they are just faster than the other fighters.

You do realize people who train with sword train in a way to strike and still be able to retain their guard, right?

Perhaps, but I dont believe Brienne was sparring with the Valerian steel sword. Nor was she swinging like she intended to kill Arya

Brienne was using a sparring sword, not her Valaryan sword

It was Bronn, right after he avoided the dragonfire he saw a white horse and went for it... then came in on the same white horse to save Jamie.

I'm saying that for a show that typically portrays relatively realistic swordfighting, that scene stood out as either (a) Arya has some secret that helps her (read magic), or (b) or fan service.

ok fair point

the blunt side of a sparring sword would make it difficult to parry and would likely frick up Arya's ability to hole a sword like needle

but i will stop b/c sword fighting in general on tv and movies is utterly retarded and you have to suspend disbelief when you see it on screen

So when Cersei is talking to the banker, she says that she would like to have the golden company retrieve some things that belong to her. What do yall think she was referring to?

Shes clearly MUCH quicker than Brienne and swinging a large sword allows ample opportunitys for a quick opponent to get inside. Thats not a foreign concept.

And Arya isnt some salty bitch from the forrest. She was literally trained in close quarter combat by the worlds premier assassin cult...... why is this so hard to understand.

Are you saying Arya is a typical 15 year old girl??

Arya is a trained killer with a completely foreign style to anyone in Westeros and Brienne was not trying to actually hurt Arya, she was taking it easy until she started getting best and then threw a chest kick and then knocked needle out of her hand. Then Arya used a dirty little trick by pulling out the dagger (tactics she learned from the Hound)
