felt the one shot with Bronn was a little awkward like they forced it in since everyone liked the one with Jon from tBotB.
Well putting those shots together requires a shite load of effort that really people who don't appreciate film as an art aren't going to get ecstatic about. But nerds, frick yeah, we love that single take shite when you actually pull it off. I salute the creators and directors of this show for even attempting it. They tried to pull an Alfonso Cuaron and pretty much succeeded in doing such. I love those two takes.

Jon has the power that she desperately seeks. She is attracted to his magnetism and righteousness

Only problem with the episode was the drawings of the white walkers. They were way too good especially compared to the other cave drawings. It looked like Jon pulled out a crayon and made them
LOL truth.

The gold made it back to KL by the skin of it's teeth but they don't want just the gold. They want a clear winner. And she just got a good chunk of her army and her food/sustenance torched.
But another angle to Varys being against Dany is his stated hatred of magic, and Dany, her dragons and all they've awoken represent all that he claims to hate.

Let's not get carried away here. Brienne is a great swords-woman. But she ain't the best in Westeros.
Other than maybe Jon, Bronn, the Mountain and maybe the Hound, I'd have her right there in the mix. She beat the shite out of Loras Tyrell who even Tywin (despite his knowledge of Loras' spear handling skills...) acknowledged was an excellent and skilled swordsman.
She also beat the Hound which is quite a feat. He was injured but still.
Like I said, she's at least top 5 if not top 3 in Westeros and I don't see how anyone could say otherwise.

Little confused why Dany burnt the food, she coulda used it just like the Lannister army.

I think you're forgetting Arya and her lesbian haircut.

The Hound is better than her. Also, you left Tormund off that list. He's a badass with a sword in his hand too.

quote:Usually, but go watch the damn fight again. Brienne has a 20 lb broadsword, and Arya has Needle, a rapier weighing maybe a poundif that, probably less. Regardless of Brienne's advantage in strength, she can't move the blade as fast, and Arya puts needle to her throat. Arya is quick and tough, she can dodge blows and handle a kick without buckling.
I love fantasy. I fricking love dragons and all that shite. However, the physical realities of swordfighting essentially are what they are. Maybe Arya has some crazy magic or something that we didn't really see helping here, but when it comes to real fighting, getting outweighed by 100 lbs is usually the end of the discussion.
Same thing with the dagger- Arya is skilled and quick enough to get the blade to her free hand, and put it to Brienne's throat again.
quote:Armor like that is usually strapped on, and I'm pretty sure Bron a) has another knife or two, and b) knows exactly where the straps are.
Then what would be the point of showing Bronn pushing him out the way? Jamie still has some role to play.
That makes sense but I would hate it. Jamie is wearing heavy armor. It looks like a complete set. Unless something really special happens he should drown.
I think they'd cut the straps if somebody got injured, and you wanted to tend to him. You come out pretty easy.

Didn't understand why she even used the dothraki
She could have just burned everyone up why they watched on the hill and they then rode in to clean up the survivors

Even Jaime is impressed in the books. Jaime in his prime could certainly defeat her, but she'd still give him a good fight. Beating Loras is a high feat.

It's awesome that Jon acknowloged Brans vision's of the night king marching toward Eastwatch in the previews for next week

Jon I don't think is that great of a swordsman. Competent, sure, but he's nowhere near Jaime, Barristan, or the Hound's levels. Hell I'd take Brienne over Jon.
I think you're reading of the books is clouding what has transpired in the show. Jon is def one of the best in the show. Sure he's not as good as the Hound or Ser Barristan. But I'd take him over Bronn, Beric and Jamie. The Kingslayer has only one hand.
But I also know in the books he's just above average

Once you've seen frozen zombies and dragons, I would imagine it wouldn't take a whole lot of convincing that Bran was seeing shite.

Also, did anyone catch what army Dany was telling to bend the knee or die in the previews? I couldn't make out any sigils or markings.

I'll agree that's entirely possible. I know Mance Rayder wipped the floor with him in the books, so that may be what clouds my judgement.

My guess was she was talking to people in the North.

Dude, he's definitely on their level. First, The Hound isn't as good as Barristan was. Second, we've seen Jon fight more than any character on the show, he's never once lost, clearly. He's so good of a fighter that he's earned a reputation as the best sword in Westeros while a member of the Night's Watch.
