What emotional connection are you supposed to have for a zombie king?

When that wall falls it'll be the biggest massacre in the show so far

Their characters really really backfired on the writers. They really should've just left them out of show all together... Seriously what point did they really serve except get everyone to cheer when they died.

The same one we had for Joffrey and Ramsey as a villain.

Right now the NK seems very theoretical in some ways.

That's how I interpreted that scene. Randall was won over by the offer of being warden of the south.

If he was fully committed to the Tyrells, he wouldn't have been in Kings Landing in the first place

I took it the other way; I was waiting the whole time for Tarly to say yes. He never did, instead he went into the speech about oaths and honor.

He showed up, Cersei gave her speech, and Jaime buttered him up with the offer. Tarly looked at him like he was a fool, and left.

The Varys scene was stupid. He pretty much said he would betray Dany if she didn't meet his standard. It's not like anyone is going to cry about Varys being killed. Every pre-WWII administration in history would have him killed, inprisoned, or forcibly resigned under constant government watch if they said such a thing.

I'm going to say a good bit of next season will be dealing almost exclusively with the NK if they cross the Wall during this season as a lot of readers anticipate.

And honestly, him staying "theoretical" makes sense as they're still trying to convince the realm that he even exists.

I actually folded all my clothes watching that grey worm scene..

Is that what you kids are calling it these days??

For a servant, Missandei sure does make a lot of dudes fold their own clothes, myself included

They are very different types of villains. The NK is a mysterious figure that brings the cold and darkness. There is no emotion. Just cold calculated killing and world domination.

His power speaks for itself, he doesn't need t one boisterous like Ramsey or Joffery

Aside from the Grey Worm shite I thought everything else was excellent. A lot of y'all can't handle your booze on a Sunday night it seems.

I thought his interaction with Dany was great. And honest. His honesty makes sense in that he knows Dany can see through his bullshite and he needs to explain as such. He also appealed to her greatest concern, the people that will serve her.

ETA: He's always been about the having the best ruler on the throne, even in the books.

They agreed that he would council her if she began to betray the people. He was honest in his intentions and his goals.

Dany has learned to keep advisors around who will challenge her. She's seen what happened when rulers have absolute authority without someone to give them a reality check.

That scene was very good.

Quality episode but did have a few Michael Bay cringeworthy lines

For the record I would have jumped overboard too. Lol

I can't hate Theon for jumping overboard. He looked around and saw they were throughly defeated. And he's been captured once already and tortured by one of the worst.

I'd have saved my arse for another day. It might be the smartest move he's ever made.

I don't think it's going to happen this year.

We've been given two seasons. I think this season wraps up the War for the Throne, and Dany and Jon (at least) survive and win. The cliffhanger ending will be the Wall failing, and next season will be the war against the Night King.

Sam is pivotal in that, so I expect Randyll will survive too... they'll have an arc that follows Randyll's contempt for Sam. I suspect that means Randyll makes it almost all the way, and then receive a fatal blow from a White Walker, while doing his "manly" stuff. And his "girly" son Sam kills said White Walker with papa's sword, and Randyll welcomes him back with his dying breath.
