Am I the only non boom reader that doesn't
Mind getting back ground info. I really wish these thread have gotten so shitty; major spoilers should left out or warned but help understanding what happened in last nights episode should be fine. Hopefully next year I will have read the books

No, your point, if you can call it that, is that nobody knows that the dragons and whitewalkers are out there. But the powerful people in Westeros, including the guy who knows everything in the world, have been tracking the dragons since they were hatched and the whitewalkers since they were sent a fricking arm by the Watch.
The guy that knows everything in westeros. The one fricking guy that knows everything means the rest of westeros is aware?
Like another poster said, most of westeros dont even believe that the whitewalkers still exist.

Based on the nonreader threads lately I would say so.

I don't mind a little background info. Like I said, i read the first book after watching the first season and plan on reading the second book now. There is just so much in the books that you pick uP that you may have missed on the show.

That was the nurse, she just looked ugly in that scene for some reason. Like her nose was really big or something

Now the wait begins. Great episode for the most part. Not as good as last week's, and aside from the White Walkers cliff hanger and Dany taking Quarth, it didn't really feel like a finale. But I have no room to complain due to the awesomeness of last week's episode. Guess GoT will be more the aftermath of the second to last episode each season, rather than LOST that prefers to blow its load in the final episode of each season rather than the second to last.

got to remember its the ending of a book though. they have to wrap up loose ends and set up future events. what we have going into the 3rd season:
1. Tyrion is getting shitted on (after someone just tried to kill him) in Kings Landing and has been replaced as hand by Tywin
2. Joffrey and Sansa are done and he will marry Margery uniting Tyrell and Lannister
3. Jon Snow has "turncloaked" and is in with the wildings now as he is introduced to the wildings host
4. Bran & Rickon are traveling to the wall
5. Theon dumbassedness has finally bitten him in the arse
6. Winterfell is destroyed
7. Dany is out of Quarth has her dragons and some gold and can move on.
8. Arya is trying to find rob and her mom.
9. Brienne the Beast is taking Jamie back to kings landing
10. Oh yea and theres some big arse zombie army north of the wall about to frick shite up.

I am thinking that the King Beyond the Wall is going to be Benjen Stark. What do you (non book readers) suppose?
Also, from what I know of the Ironborn, they would not likely surrender or give up Theon to be beheaded. They probably left out the secret passage that Theon and Maester Luwin knew about.
Maester Luwin told Osha to keep the kids safe from "her own", which is a reference to Wildlings. He told them to go North towards the Wall, which is why he gave them this warning.

I'm pretty sure they keep mentioning Mance Rayder (sp?) as the King beyond the Wall. I think they will have Benjen prisoner or something though.

I think this is correct and that his sister arranged it.

Yeah the books basically just end wherever and then the next book picks right back up from where it ends.
Sometimes I've had to reread the last chapter cause I feel like I missed something(like.."that isn't the ending, is it??")

I'm thinking Bejen Stark has taken the name Mance Rayder beyond the wall.

Was that winterfell that was destroyed or the little town that Bran and Rickon were followed to?

That was Winterfell. Bran and Rickon were hiding out in Winterfell right under the Theon's nose.

No, it is Winterfell

It honestly wouldn't surprise me to see Benjens head on a spike in episode 1 of season three. Starks get shitty deals breh.
