so i assume that was the trial for murdering joffrey? were they just listing poisons? tyrion doesn't stand trial for murdering tywin in the books, correct?

Did an Iraq War debate just break out in the thread?

i think i remember that now from show, just trying to think if show ever illustrated an opportunity for oberyn to poison tywin.

i don't want to die by any of the poisons mentioned in the show. they sound awful. i definitely don't want to constipate to death lol. i think cersei had it right when she was about to casey anthony tommen at blackwater. that was nightshade right?

Look up a couple posts, there's an opportunity whenever Tywin goes to the brothels to talk to Oberyn

What? He just has to make contact with Tywin to poison him. Tywin partaking in the activities has nothing to do with him being poisoned

Tywin extended his hand and the scene ended.

Areo Hotah had a hissy fit when one of the sand snakes touch Doran's hand to kiss it. He had to inspect the prince's hand, because on a small prick by one of the sand snakes could kill him.

Speaking of which, I thought that might be was Oberyns Paramour might've done to Doran whenever she "pledged" her loyalty to him and kiss his hand

oh ok gotcha. i wasn't ttalking about the fivesome i meant to partake of food or drink. i thought poisons had to enter the body this way (food/drink) or in the blood by a weapon (arryn, mountain, bronn, etc)

i wasn't aware he could poison by touch.

In history people have built up tolerances to poisons by exposing themselves to it in low doses over a period of time. It's possible if it's a skin absorptive poison Oberyn could have done it this way.

I don't think the Red Viper poisoned Tywin. If Tywin's colon was hung up like two dogs from being poisoned, I doubt he would have been fricking Shae before he went to the shitter and got a bolt to the heart from Tyrion. He probably just fricked Shae and then decided to go take a shite and read the day's news scroll instead of cuddling.

You can get grayscale by touch, why not poison.

Twin could have been poisoned....... Or he could have just taken a shite. We don't know anything definite.

What we do know is that he was hand of the king. His grandson was king and his daughter was queen regent. Seems like he was winning the vengeance battle with Doran to me.

That and he was screwing his son's lover. Whoops!

Of course the main evidence that he was poisoned is the extreme decayed state of his body while layer out in the great sept. Seems almost like he was decaying from the inside prior to death. This with all the other evidence presents a strong case. Of course GRRM has shite on theories before.

Well in the books Tywin was most deffinitly constipated before the incident. There's few quotes about him not being able to shite for a couple weeks before his death

Secondly in the books, Shea fell asleep on that bed after he went to the bathroom which = he was in there so long for her to fall asleep

And finally whenever Tyrion killed him, GRRM makes a nice description about how disgusting the smell was being his bowels had finally given out.

Idk how spoiler adverse you are, but the Dornish Master plan is another theory I really like. Super long, but if it is correct then Doran is well on his way to having his revenge. Could all be bullshite but it has a lot of background info on the Lannister-Dorne feud as well. But their are deffinitly some book spoilers in it

One of the Sand Snakes poisoned Ser Bronn of The Blackwater with a slow acting poison that she said only had to make contact with the skin.

His Death-
For once, his father did what Tyrion asked him. The proof was the sudden stench, as his bowels loosened in the moment of death. Well, he was in the right place for it, Tyrion thought. But the stink that filled the privy gave ample evidence that the oft-repeated jape about his father was just another lie.

Lord Tywin Lannister did not, in the end, shite gold.

His funeral-
The King’s Hand was rotting visibly. His face had taken on a greenish tinge, and his eyes were deeply sunken, two black pits. Fissures had opened in his cheeks, and a foul white fluid was seeping through the joints of his splendid gold-and-crimson armor to pool beneath his body.

“I wasn’t scared,” the boy insisted. “The smell made me sick. Didn’t it make you sick? How could you bear it, Uncle, ser?”

It seems odd that there wasn't any earlier acts of vengeance by the Martels for the massacre of Princess Elia, even if just some clandestine act against the Mountain.
